hey trapper..... ya the same thing happened my first grow when i was using M Grow and wasnt phing the water(i didnt really know what it was at the time). i collected the seeds from the plant and planted them this grow......... ya, i got 100% femm:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:................ but i also got like 50% hemies :evil::evil::evil: ...................maybe more, they just started showing up a week ago(that when i first found them and they were very green). this was 3 or 4 weeks into flower, now im flushing for the last two weeks so i dotn harvest seed...... ya it sux pretty bad.... lol. you can spray or pick off the bananas. spraying should kill pollen but if you have moisture problems it could invite bad things along also. usually if they are yellowish gray, they are shedding pollen.... you might have to harvest early too if you dont want alot of seed. but that depends on your plant and grow conditions. i hope i helped bro. peace :blsmoke:

thanks man,i actually wanted to harvest the pollen to pollinate some plants later to make seed, but if it causes hermies im not for it,the plants are out of the room,i thought that if you stressed female plants that the pollen created would create female seeds maybe males but hermies i didnt know that,i read an article in hightimes and soma seeds said he used this tecknique to make fem seeds, but any help will help.thanks.

i forgot to add that im no expert. i have been doing lots of reading on RUI to help me get a needed green thumb though. working on the second grow.

i aslo read the article about rodelization from hightimes(i read it like... geez, probably 3 years ago now). anyways, they DONT use chemically stressed plants(toxic salt buildup, nute lock up, or things of that nature), they only let the plant mature for an extra couple weeks or so... maybe there would be a difference in the offspring..... ?

im not sure exactly what happened to my plants, but probably all the bad things that can go wrong, looking in retrospect. im not sure if the plant that was predominately producing the pollen was hemie to begin with. i used seeds from bag seed and have no other knowledge of lineage. what im trying to say is, you might have different results if you have stronger genetics that what i was using....

all i can tell you is from my personal experiences. you can give it a go if you would like, maybe do some more research to ascertain the deal. from my experiences, i will only be breeding male and female from now on because these hermies royally screwed this grow up..... anyways sorry for the rant, good luck with all your endeavors my friend. catch some bunnies for me mr trapper, eh? lol haha. peace:blsmoke:

umm. ok I'm not an expert but let me give my understanding of this. when you stress a plant it becomes a hermi for one reason or another. from my understanding the general rule is that the sex of the plant that is forced to hermi will produce seeds that will hermi, if you force a male to hermi it will produce male seeds rate but a lot of hermis and very few females. the same with females, you will get females and hermis but few males. fem seeds tend to hermi a lot regardless of the method it seems. this is just my understanding from readings here and other places.

reguardless seeds from a hermi or pollen(from a hermi) used to pollenate will produce a high number of hermis, it just becomes a genetic disfunction.

again this is my understanding not backed up with experience just info from reading. but i advise against useing hermis whenever possible since it will just continue unless you breed it out(takes multiple generations)( breed a male with no hermi traits with a female with no hermi traits and continue a few generations and you will get less and less hermis)

good luck

thanks that was my understanding untill i reread the article i mentioned in hightimes,so im confused, that is why they are gone, not worth the hassle,i thought i might here back from someone who used stress induced pollen.i have grown BB fem seeds and they were all hermies, and to think those seeds were 200+ dollars, but given as a gift.i just germed 5 god bud and 5 chemo they germed in 24 hours i also have 4 femBB germing and they havent popped.probably a good thing, finding hermies in your crop is time consuneing and haveing a back held together by rods and screws doesnt make the task easier, which makes people ask why i bother trying to breed with shitty health, because growing pot is fun and enjoying and the hobby pays for itself, and if your going to have a hobby why not botany.

personally i think its better to stick to regular seeds in the future(cheaper too), its easier to pick out regular males than to try and check every single bud for sacs. you can switch to 12/12 at about 8-12 inches(6th node usually) and see the sex of your plants and then pull males and grow out your females to do with as you wish. a male or 2 can be quarantined for pollen harvest right after it has been checked for sex by throwing it in a rubber made box or something small like that with a few floro tubes or CFLs.

Best of luck to you

thanks,i plan to clone the god bud,how long do they need to veg before showing sex i know the BB showed sex 5 weeks in veg,do some plants not show sex during veg or do all of them just some take longer.

well you can force flower them anytime after the 6-7th node usually, sometimes it takes a little longer but after they 6-7th node you can change the light to 12/12 and after a week-3 weeks they will usually show their sex(this is the start of normal flowering) then do what you want to the males and change back to 18/6 24/0 or whatever your normal veg cycle is. they might grow a little funny for a few weeks after, continue producing hairs, or they might grow single finger leaves for a few weeks(this is fairly common), but your plants will only be what you leave there. all female, all male, whatever. once they are under the veg light cycle grow them as big as you want and then put back into 12/12 to flower

an alternative if you have the space is to take 2-3 cuttings from each plant. root them and make sure you have them labled correctly. and then put these cuttings into 12/12 to see their sex, they are exactly the same as the mother they were cut from so you can see if the mother is male/female this way without slowing down the main plant for a few weeks to sex them. i've done this with 2 18 watt floro tubes in a rubber made box lined with foil and a few air holes.( just so you get an idea of how small and simple a box can be. also you can leave these in flower to get a general idea of how the final product will come out)

hope that helps

pm me if you have any more questions, or want a pic of the box i made up
