    Default Flowering with T5's??

First time poster, long time reader. I have a small space I am currently vegging under a t12, they are doing good, I want to flower under a t5, the plants are about 8in tall. Has any one had any luck with flowering under a t5? What kind of yield did you get?

Howdy stranger! For more than you thought you wanted to know, I recommend the "LED without LEDs" thread. Lots of info there on full grows using "optimized" T5 setups. cn

i cant find that post, the reason i was going with t5 is because its cheap light to but and maintain and it covers a large area, i want to flower in a 1gallon possibly 2gallon if i decide to get the 6 tube t5

It's a thread. Use the search function; select "thread title".

As for T5s being cheap light ... only if you use the standard substandard tubes. Then it's not so cheap any more, when you have to count tubes and kWh against final yield. cn

You should browse and post your question here:

One tip I will add is that floros have (all things being equal) a 12" penetration range, and SOG is ideal.12/12 rooted clone is where the magic really starts.

Been there, done that I would not recommend the T5 path into flowering, you'll surely be disappointed. T5 is great in grow, but you'll need HID lighting in flower for penetration into your SOG canapy.

For a small space I say yes to T5's, been using them with good success. they use less elect. than HID and HPS and obviously cheeper. Mak sure you buy from a hydro store on line or local shop, don't bother with Home Depot, Lowes or Walmart they don't carry the right lamps. Get a T5 high output with 6500K lamps for veg and 3000K lamps for veg. I think you'll be satisfied for such a small space. I use it and have descent grows.

For veg use 6500k and actinic bulbs in the 420nm range. For flowering switch to 3000K to 5000K and red color bulbs in the 600nm range. I am vegging under T5 and they are doing well I am using all 6500K bulbs but plan to swap out 1 or 2 for a 420nm bulb. Very good growth in veh so far with T5 and heat is not an issue.

Since I had flowered under T5's I have heard a lot of good things about keeping about 20% warm/3000 during grow and cool/6500 during flower.

Good luck brother if you choose to go with the T5's.
