Default whens the right time to repot?

Morning people. looking for opinons here. below is me seedlings, 4 of them are 7 days old and the 1 is only a couple of days old. was thinking i should repot the 4 in a few days. planning putting them into 9" pots where they will stay. been reading abit about root bound and some people think that leaving them in the small pots for a bit longer for a bit of root bound is the way to go. they reckon it makes the plant more bushier. hope that i have got this right. forcing them to be more bushier isnt a priority to me as reckon they'll be bushy enough. my main concern is putting them into larger pots, i imagine this will slow the growth for a time as the roots grow out to side of the pots. so is it better to leave a bit longer in the small pots or go with what i had planned and repot after about 10 days from seedling?
hope this makes sense and thoughts on this are appricated.

If you don't need bushier you can go ahead and transplant now. But, because your guys are in the
toothpick stage they will be difficult to TP without having them fall over.

What I do is first brace up the stem so it can't fall over. I use a skinny piece of bamboo with a pipe
cleaner attached to the end. Push the end of the stick into the dirt so it is right alongside the plant
stem. Form a circle with the pipe cleaner that surrounds the stem. When you are ready to turn the
plant upside down, slide the stem and stick between your middle finger and your ring finger. This keeps
the stick and stem together. You want the stick brace to go with the plant.

    Good luck, BigSteve.

If I were you I would leave them in the cups till they have a few nodes. Also they are streching a bit so get the light closer to them, without burning them of course. Mine were born June 23rd and I wont move them for another ten days or so. Wait till you see a root coming out of the bottom on your holes.

Also as to transplant let the cup dry up, get your new pot soil ready, dig a hole so you can slide that cup in and out with ease. Than, since it is dry, just roll the cup in your hand, turn it over and it should come out like a cube, place the cube in the hole you made and push some soil over the top and water. You will notice little to zero stress if done this way but for sure wait.

cheers for the input people. am thinking now's not quite ready as they are so skinny and delicate so was originaly thinking 10-12 days but not to sure they'll be any less delicate in that time.

BigSteve - i do have skinny stick supports but im a wee bit worried about sticking them into the soil beside her as concerned i'll damage some of the roots doing this. i've got caines ready in the new pots for the support and cable ties to tieing the noose. this was all done as one of my last plants fell over on her own acord. (main stem broke just below ground level). she died on me.

chrishydro - the work is already done for the new pots. made a mold for the transplant from an empty pot so it slides right in. also got canes in place for support mainly cause im worried about sticking canes in amoungst the roots so having them in before the plant is. also i've been told 2 ways of taking the plant out of the pot. your way and the other way is to wet the ground 1st and leave for a couple of minutes then turn and slide cup off. will go with your way as it sounds more like sense having the ground bone dry. cheers for that.
also hear what your saying about stretching of the stems, wasnt really wanting them closer to the light as it's 29-30c at that level but thinking now whats more important slightly warmer or stretchy skinny plants. will give it a shot. cheers again.

    Hi

I would highly recommend to keep em in the same pot for two or three weeks more till they re outgrow than this pot. Because they need to build a good root system in the meduim first. And second thing, the rootbound that you re looking for. For example you need to have water it everyday, or get overnutes easy and some defs issues, you will know its time to repot. Its best thing to water this plant before you transplant. damp will keep plants happy.

Before you transplant, I would defoliate low stems and branch (the defoliated stems will become roots in a few weeks) and cut the vertically of rootball from top to the below 1/4 inch with blade, the purpose to encourage the growth and keep vigor. thats way this plant will be strudy and yield good buds !

    happy gardening and peace
