is it ok?

It's way overkill and too much light can kill seedlings faster than anything. I would just use a CFL (as bad as I hate them), or some shop lights.

I have done it before, but like Potpimp stated it is over kill and a waste of hydro. You would have to keep them at a slightly farther distance too, but that was said also lol. Actually, I don't even know why I am writing this - anyways, hope all goes well!

put the light like 2 foot above it and have a dome over it for a few weeks should be fine but for about 20 bucks u can go by a T8 4 foot shop light that will do fine

managed to get 2 plants started like this but also killed 4 seedlings. was 1st attempt so didn't realise how brutal i was. fair amount of heat that comes off these bad boys. would defiently look to put under a dome for 1st week or so.

Ok.. so if i use the CFL lights for the first two weeks, How do i adapt them to the MH lights?
