Well if you are still doing your basement grow then you got that.I would lose that 1kw hid and just use the t5's for 12/12 rooted clone sog.No veg...straight to 12/12 to keep the stretch within 12".You said it is allways hot up there so you have to make sacrifices and once dialed in you will be like "holy fuck! This alot better than risking a house fire!".

If you have a dimmable ballast, then dimmer down to 75% for these hot days. I'm running 2 600 watters with no cool tubes, and when I turn 'em down to 75% my temp stays in the mid 80's. At 100%, I was at 96 degrees. Not ideal for plant growth to lessen the light, but, niether is excessive heat.

    Stretching>heat stress
Pretty much all you can do dude is A:Get a portable a/c unit, B: Use less powerful lights, C: Get some serious ventilation.

    I do

going to put the 6'' blower and have it blow from my room up into the attic. I have the carbon filter through the light and out with another 6''. A big floor fan blowing from a room towards my grow room. And I will have a fan in a window blowing in. And I have a blower blowing through my registers upstairs from a basement window.

It got up to/over a 100 last night. I hope to be able to hold it at 95. Considering everything I would be happy with that, better than over a 100.

    really-

sorry to hear that. instead of having all the fans blow into the room, switch them to blow out, esp the window. that will suck heat out through a very short path. also, make sure your attic is vented well enough to handle the air, or your just fillin a balloon.

Unless you want to run up your electricity bill with an A/C unit, theres really nothing you can do.Upstairs in the summer is no bueno. Your buds might get airy and foxtail. In the end, you'll still come out with chronic, but quality and yield will drop.

If you have a backyard, consider building a little greenhouse with a white translucent (not clear) covering and run a fan/carbon filter in there to ventilate. Should reduce the smell and temperatures, and you get free light.

I've given up on indoor during the summer... The sun is free. Just keep it discrete

can you eliminate the t5s? or is your grow big enough to where you need the light coverage? 95 is getting better. im dealing with 85-95 right now no co2. at least powdery mildew will have great trouble growing. im noticing stress though. getting fucking pissed been waiting over a month for a mini splitter ac.

youre growing in an upstairs bedroom, and venting out a basement air register????

dude. if thats what youre really doing then you got to move shit around.

if you are growing in an upstairs bedroom, then you need to vent out the attic. heat goes up. if you are trying to vent hot air through the basement youre only concentrating heat upstairs.

if you have a basement you need to grow down there. basements are always the coolest area in the house. if you dont have a basement but meant a crawlspace then you should be drawing air up from the crawlspace and vent hot air out the roof.

clarify your situtation and i may have some hillbilly knowledge for ya.

    answer this questionaire:

do you have a basement or root cellar?

is your region hot as fuck outside, or just in the house?

what is the relative humidity outside your house (approximate will do)

what is the relative humidity inside your house (approximate will do)

can you vent to the roof?

do you have a back yard, side yards or any outside area where nobody will ask questions about a strange looking device?

can you drop $200 bucks on a cooling system that will cool your whole house without using hardly any electricity and will last for a decade or more with minimal maintenance?

answer the questions and ill bring you the coolness.
