Well, here's my 2 cents worth.
I recently bought 2 full grown plants from a more professional grower. 4 1000w HPS in a room, 60+ plants, yada yada yada. I asked for a sample of finished product from those plants, and he agreed.
I grow on t5, and don't get the dense nuggets he gets, but the stuff I got from him still smells like hay, not like weed, even after I attempted to cure it in jars like I am curing mine.
My "homegrown" tastes pleasant, has a definite weed aroma during smoking, and a HUGE difference in smell when you open the mason jar.
His will still get you high as hell, but to me it smells like I grabbed a handful of alfalfa from the side of the road and rolled it.
For harshness, try what I do. Invest in a zig zag rolling machine, and buy a small pack of filters you can get at most smoke shops for those who roll their own cigs. There is a world of difference to me between hitting a pipe, and hitting a filtered joint of the same weed. The filter helps greatly with that harsh burn in your throat.
And even if you have NO idea how to roll a joint, play with that zig zag machine for a little while you will be rolling righteously awesome joints like a pro.
I apologize for my incessant rambling, but if you are patient there is inner hidden wisdom in most of my posts...Like playing literary "Where's Waldo."--------------- See, it's fun!
Fresh weed is a lot racier...but can give you headaches as well...so I kind of like it fast...but would prefer it after it has sat for awhile...I like the smoothness...

a green colored incandescent WILL interrupt the dark period as they do emit red wavelengths as well which are the wavelengths that the plants use to determine the photoperiod...green leds and then green TRUE PHOSPHOROUS fluorescent would not..
drying and curing is WHAT MAKES IT TASTEFUL AND SMOOTH...not flushing or anything else other than the dry/cure
