Well, here's my 2 cents worth.

I recently bought 2 full grown plants from a more professional grower. 4 1000w HPS in a room, 60+ plants, yada yada yada. I asked for a sample of finished product from those plants, and he agreed.

I grow on t5, and don't get the dense nuggets he gets, but the stuff I got from him still smells like hay, not like weed, even after I attempted to cure it in jars like I am curing mine.

My "homegrown" tastes pleasant, has a definite weed aroma during smoking, and a HUGE difference in smell when you open the mason jar.

His will still get you high as hell, but to me it smells like I grabbed a handful of alfalfa from the side of the road and rolled it.

For harshness, try what I do. Invest in a zig zag rolling machine, and buy a small pack of filters you can get at most smoke shops for those who roll their own cigs. There is a world of difference to me between hitting a pipe, and hitting a filtered joint of the same weed. The filter helps greatly with that harsh burn in your throat.

And even if you have NO idea how to roll a joint, play with that zig zag machine for a little while you will be rolling righteously awesome joints like a pro.

I've tried hanging in different areas of my house and it doesnt seem to matter, its dried out in a matter of 3-4 days every time. And as for curing goes, I've read how it gets danker the longer it is in jars, and it is optimal at say 15 weeks or so ! Hell I'm lucky if I can keep it jarred for 15 days before I need it. I only yield an oz or 2 from each plant. And another thing I found is if I do manage to keep some in jars beyond 3-4 weeks, it begins to dry out in the sealed jars too and I end up dropping a fresh leaf in the jars to put a little moisture back in them. Thats been my reality which is different than everything I read about drying and curing. So, what am I doing wrong?
Now, in the winter, I have forced air heat and I know thats going to speed through the whole process.
Well it does dry within 3 or 4 days enough to put in jars..then you put it in jars and more inner moisture is pulled to the outside of the buds again..thusly creating a slow and even drying throughout. That is what curing is...

Fresh weed is a lot racier...but can give you headaches as well...so I kind of like it fast...but would prefer it after it has sat for awhile...I like the smoothness...

I can leave my buds out forever and they'll never completely crisp up due to the high resin content. Increase your resin content and you won't have to be as concerned about 'drying out.' Also, my nugs retain their moisture even after months in jars.

I know what you mean, but also you gotta have the right plant to do it with. Some strain suck when it comes to resin production. +rep homie.

a green colored incandescent WILL interrupt the dark period as they do emit red wavelengths as well which are the wavelengths that the plants use to determine the photoperiod...green leds and then green TRUE PHOSPHOROUS fluorescent would not..

drying and curing is WHAT MAKES IT TASTEFUL AND SMOOTH...not flushing or anything else other than the dry/cure
