How long does it take for the male plant to pollinate the female? Can a male plant pollinate a female even if they haven't developed seed pods, or does it have to have the pods open up and show the bannana like parts? Basically what is the window period of how long a male can be in with your female plants without pollinating them

The pods contain pollen, but need to fully open. Therefore the window is variable and you can watch for them. Any males needed for breeding should be in a different area, even under a cfl, until the pods pop, then you can collect and use a brush to dust on the hair of the female in the first couple weeks of flower. So, as long as you don't see hanging bananas you should be cool. But if you don't want to seed, why leave the male?
