6 plants / 12-17 years in prison!!!!!??
So I started my first grow. I am growing 3 plants from bag seed first to get some experience. They are 4 weeks along and 1 week ahead of the 3 good strains. tonight I looked up the penalty for a first offense for growing 5+ plants and it is 12-17 years in prison. I am f'n freaking out. I am about to burn it all tonight, for real. Someone please tell me if this is the actual penalty I would get for a first offense and whether it is the same for less than 5 plants. If there is any real jail time the grow is coming down. I have too much to lose.
If there is no evidence of growing for distribution, they usually just take the plants and slap you with a possession charge.
I have seen this multiple times.
Assuming these are federal punishments. The feds are not going to come to your place over 3 plants, I can guarantee you that.
and even if it is state, unless you are loud-mouthing to everyone. nobody will ever notice 3 plants.
What about the state punishment. That is what I am looking at for Kansas. Give me the Worst case scenario. I am going to destroy the 3 bag seed plants right now. By the time I read the next reply I will only have the 3 good strain plants left. I will decide their fate after a good nights sleep and a little more research.

I actually only grow long stemmed roses. I think the government should make laws against that stuff(pot). If you can afford it donate to seed banks to ensure the species.

like i said before. if its for personal use, and it will be more of a slap on the wrist.
the laws are really in place to prevent distribution. which is why there are also harsh penalties on transportation.
dont worry about it. I have been growing well more than 6 plants, and although medically. I have never had a visit from any cops.
i have hit well over 30 plants.
and i grow in an apartment complex.
Bottom line don't get caught in Kansas, if you're growing 6 plants have the odor under control, no scales in the house, pay your bills on time keep your house looking neat, mow the yard and don't have people coming and going all the time don't worry. That said I know of 2 people who have been busted in Kansas one with 200+ plants one with 15, one in Jo Co the other in Sedgwick, I'm far far away from that god forsaken state!!!
