Default Seedlings, help please. Water question
Well I have 3 seedlings started right now. I used the paper towel / zip lock method to start them. Then I placed them in some soil under a 3' flouro shop light for now. About 2 or 3 inches away.

Actually, I had started 2 but I had a feeling I may had dropped an extra seed in one of the containers. Last night the realization came to me that indeed 1 pot had 2 seedlings growing and the other had 1. So I yanked the smaller / newer one out and placed it in it's own pot -- Didn't want to leave it together but figured why waste it? Came home from work and the transplant was laying over but not completely dead so I watered all 3. Now they're all doing well. The 2 originals have 2 sets of small leaves and the transplant has 1 set starting.

ANYWAY. How much should I water these? I've been getting water and letting it set over night and watering them in the morning and it seems to be working. I just don't want to fry them or over water them. Should I just keep checking the moistness of the soil and keep adding as necessary?

Thanks in advance

What size cup/pot are they in. You should be watering 1 time a week.

Yes, what are they in and how hot is it?

when they're young, you need to keep the roots moist constantly. Water in small amounts though. Maybe a table spoon or two daily.
Think of the size of the plant to help you. It doesn't need that much water, it's tiny. Keep the roots moist, then move up to bigger waterings.
Eventually the plant can handle more water less frequently.

The "pots" they're in are little brownish cardboard-like (NOT cardboard) 2". I don't put much water in at all. I'd say maybe a table spoon each day.

I'll set up a grown journal once I get everything I need. Just the beginning steps right now in a temporary set up.

I just remembered I had some more seeds started in a paper towel. Opened it up today after a week and they are all cracked with nice 1 - 1.5" roots with a leaf or two on each right out of the towel / bag! I was so surprised to see that. This is just bag seed otherwise I would have never forgotten about those.

Total of 8 right now. I'll get some flicks a little later. Maybe start a journal. This is my first time.

Using some leftover (not pre-used) Miracle Grow (shoot me now -- I know I know...). There shouldn't be an issue putting this in some real soil mix later right? I don't see how there would be.

The pot things I am using are called peat pots.

I'm using miracle grow time release fertilizer right now and it works fine for me.
Just make sure you get a pH test kit.
