hey hows it going everybody... i have a pretty decent setup in my closet and have started germinating some seeds... have 4 seeds sprouting in the rockwool cubes that are in 3 in net pots with hydroton grow rocks with my 5 plant bubble ponics system i have 4 60w floro lights with 10in dome hoods on them (one over each plant) and i have a fan on them 24 hours on a low breeze... and i was wondering how long until i take it off of 24 hour lighting... should i wait 2-3 weeks and go to 18on-6off or just stay on 24 hour lighting until veg is over? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks much

I would leave it on 24hrs

two weeks for 18/16. i usually start on that it causes less stress but 2 wks starts the main veggie stage thats from when they first pop up not when you planted them you can keep it on 24 but i dont suggest it they need some rest to recoup.you will see a dramatic decrease in about six weeks of growth if you keep it on 24/24 if you plane to veggie that long.i would say keep them on 24/24 so you don't stress the plants and if your doing clone or starting new seed put them on 18/6 from the start.

I am also doing a 1st time grow and had a question to add... Since seeds can be germinated in damp paper towels, can't they be done in rockwool 1st, out of where-ever it is you are planning to grow ? THEN, put in the system once they're germinated ?

Yes you can do that if you want just don't let it get to wet or too dry..

I did and it worked out fine. Got 'em under 400hps right now.
