When Do Buds Start Swelling?

My Northern Lights Special has a lot of hairs growing and a slight bit of frost (very little).
They're in Day 36 of flowering and I'm wondering if the best is still to come?
What exactly happens during the swelling process?

Think of it as flowering right now and it still has to fruit yet.

The hairs will golden then shrivel back to the calyx they're coming out of then the calyx will swell.

Here's an example from a grow I did.

First pics about where you're at, second is just before harvest, same bud.:leaf:

Yours will start to swell in a few more weeks.

yah, yours don't look too bad imo, and like 420 god said, in another week or two they will start to swell up nicely, and in the last week, they will really plump up nice and fat..
just give them time, they are looking great to me..

I thought I would post here as I have some similar NL's growing now, on the 22nd day of flowering and looking very nice, all 3 extremely over-sized for their location and have been bent, pruned, topped everything, 4, 5 and 6ft xD
It's the first real attempt at a grow so I'm trying a few things out, already took a batch of cutting and should have them ready for this cropping.
Anyone familiar with ton o bud and heavies? Would like more info on those

Man I'm where you are. I am just about 7 weeks in...and I want to harvest soooo bad, but my hairs just started turning amber, and I am giving all my effort to wait another week and a half to let it plump up...I pinched a bottom bud the other day, and smoked it...it works. I cant wait. Ive hear patience preached before...and I am trying so hard. I hope it pays off.

I see a plant about a month away from ready. Post pics again in 3 weeks.

The best is most definately "still to come". Swelling occurs in the last 2 or 3 weeks of maturation, the buds get fatter and a whole lot denser, often the fan leaves will wither and die (totally natural).

The only real way to tell when your girls are ready, is by the colour of the trichs. Clear = nor ready, cloudy = ripe, amber = couchlock and past it's prime.

Most people harvest with a mix of cloudy and amber, 80/20 I think is the recommended ratio.

Waiting is the hardest part, but well worth it. Do yourself a favour, and don't harvest early.

Have fun.:leaf:

Cripes! Why must you hi-jack another members thread?!?! This is about someone else's plants, not yours. Start your own thread, dude, and while you're at it - learn the proper etiquette for posting on forums.

Your plant looks okay for day 36 of flower cycle. Mine look similar at 4 weeks into flower cycle, and I consistently harvest 2 oz.'s plus from all my indoor plants. I see no cause for concern. Hope your grow turned out alright. Cheers.
