I recently sat in on a small claims court case in LA in which the Plantiff (one suing) was a patient cultivator. He left his product on consignment with a store that he had done business with in the past. Long story short , the owner never paid him. After numerous visits and phone calls the plantiff got angry and filed a small claim court case against the LA based collective (Absolute Herbal Pain Solutions).

The day of the court case the plantiff walks in the court room with little evidence
1. Sitcky post-it note as receipt for payment with employee signature.
2.Demand letter from a lawyer.
3.follow up phone call
4.detailed interactions written down.
5.complaints from other growers from reviews on weedtracker.


The grower won his case against the collective. The owner of the store Absolute Herbal Pain Solutions didn't even show up in court. The grower was awarded his money back 3,000.00.

You have 2 years from the time the situation happened to file a claim. Any type of evidence you can attain will surely help your case. I"m sick in tired of hearing growers getting ripped from clubs. Hopefully someone who has been ripped will read this and fight back against shaddy clubs.

That's an appalling story. It doesn't surprise me in the least. I've been dealing with those motherfuckers for years. Yes. Totally. That's how they are. Your shit is dank, they pretend it's not, and they do everything they can to try to low-ball you and ask you to leave it on consignment. I laugh when they ask me to leave it on consignment. Do they ever give patients store credit or a grace period to pay for their meds? I don't think so. So I always say, If you want my 'shitty' bud on your shelves, I walk out with cash or I leave you with nothing.

Wow.. I have never had to get rid of any of my grows, maybe a good thing maybe not, but this is just bad. With all this being grey areas as far as care givers, overages etc.. you really probably will spend more money to recover the amount for the size you left. So probably not a good idea to take them to court probably going to cost you few thousand dollars, over a couple hundred for few ounces.

you can hire the marshals to collect that, I had it happen to me, they showed up and surrounded my car for $125 judgement

^^ nah it cost less thsn 100.00 to file your case and get someone to serve the defendant (person being sued) .Typoerror makes a valid point of collecting the amount owed after the case is won. Typo, what kinds of actions have you taken to attempt getting your money back ? I know the courts give you a number to call one you've won your case and they explain how to recover your money.

Once you win in small claims ...

you have get a judgement ($50-100) on the towing company... just as long as they are still in business...you can hit up their bank account for your $1700 with a legal judgement

jugements and liens have to be renewed every year



Dont front your products to any storefronts...If they are real they will have cash.. if they want to play you they will ask for a front
