i'm having a problem with fungus gnat "larvae" and im in week 3 of flower. I know there are many different ways to treat this problem but my question is which way would be the "safest" as i'm in flower.

    diatomaceous earth?
    nematodes ?
    gnatrol?
    preditory mites?

I'm approaching week 4 of flower, and I'm fighting them right now myself. I can't tell you if this will work for you, and I haven't been able to get rid of them yet, but they haven't gotten out of control either.

    - Mosquito Dunks contain a bacteria that attacks the gnats. Dissolve some in your water when feeding. Maybe let it dissolve for a day or so in advance.
    - sticky traps for whiteflys and stuff to grab the adults
    - diatamacious earth will work, but I hate using it because it's really bad to breathe, so use sparingly and breathe with caution
    - a small container of wine/beer/apple cidar vinegar will attract them, and they will fall in and get trapped = die
    - sand or perlite on the surface of the soil, the adults don't like. I'm using both currently.
    - let containers dry as much as reasonable
    - spray any you see with insecticidal soap
I have a note from my doctor.

No shit? sounds like a solution worth a shot. what about when you water next, you think its washing that into the soil and changing anything? like flavor or what not?

If you're growing is soil, this will also kill all of your beneficial bacteria. Not advised for organic or soil growers.

    Default use gnat off

use gnat off and sticky fly traps too for quickness to rid them and then

put an inch of perlite or sand on top of your soil and the fly larvae cannot get up through it to reproduce.

in all seriousness i had gnats one time used cinamin litterally they dropped dead on the spot fungas gnats occur and like wet areas an live 2 " in top of your soil thats why so me many ppl will add sand on top of there grows just wait till plants need to be fed once you feed them then sprinkle cinamin or just sprinkle cinamin it the flying gnats that are adults there not to fear its the larvae in your soil thats the root cause i swear by try it once and there gone when its time to water again just water no big deal if your worried then re apply cinamin again on top of soil
