I was wondernig what areas are the best in the woods to get a good soil.
Is there any type of other plant or area such as a field which has soil to mix with my other high quility store bought soil.

if you use outdoor soil that you wana use indoors you should sterilize it first just incase theres bugs and bug eggs in it.

Look for soil with a lot of green vegetation on it; simple enough. Sift it, bake it, test it, add dolomitic lime, bone meal, blood meal, perlite and use it.

Its best for really great out door performance to compost your own soils The larger growers I know use back hoes and pallets of worm castings etc.

The very best way is to prepare your plot at the end of last year.
Look for rich black loamy soil under decayed vegetation.

Dig a large hole about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep and then mix in 1/2 of the soil and the rest augments like worm castings, peat, bone meal, blood meal and bat poo as well as epson salts and dolomite lime.
Mix well and then recover with leaves etc.
In spring 8 months later it will be alive and ready to grow you some monster plants

dont do it near pine trees as the suck the nutrients out of the soil! hmm leaves a good idea but try looking for good drainage in the soil eg rocky ground try stiking a tent peg in to feel for rocks. they always find rocks!
