anyone?????
So i got my closet all set up....lined with mylar...Ooooh so Shinyyyy.....Six T5 HO fluoros....easy pull adjustable lighting hangers...Nice....Two 4 gal hydro pots w/drip system....very clean looking closet.....After I admire my work I think to myself...you'd never think there was a sweetass grow room behind that door.....until I plugged everything in...friggin air pumps that came with the drip hydro systems sound like a very active bee hive....so my little steath closet turned into something no one could walk by without wondering whats that noise coming from that closet....somebody go get a can of Raid....anyone know of a silent running air pump?????
I have a 2 outlet pump running a bubble cloner I hung it from the ceiling with a chain to quiet it a little but it is still louder that the 4 fans I have in my 400 watt hps bloom chamber. I think all of the low end pumps are loud.

Wait I run 5 fans not 4.

Its the surface you have the air pump on most likely. They do vibrate a little and are queitest when placed on wood. Meijer's sells 'quiet' air pumps for like $15.00 in the pet department. I have two of them for my four tanks. VV
Try to suspend the pump, or at least make sure, it doesn't make other things vibrate. A lot of times, the pump will calm down, if it gets some resistance - in other words, narrow your air outlet.
Best of all, get a fish-tank, and that's your excuse for having the pump, and other little things you may need. On top of it you get to enjoy having a fish tank! Always lots of little noises coming from those things, and light and water, and what not.
