so i just moved into my new place, and like before i want to set up a small personal grow op, like 4-5 plants one 250 watt HPS light, and 2 feet deep, 2 feet wide, and about 8 feet tall, think that would work? or should i get a bigger bulb?

I don't know how you plan on getting that many plants into that small of an area unless you don't really let them veg long. You will need a strain that doesn't grow much. Lowryder I guess. But still that many plants. I would think you should start with just 2 and see how that works first and go from there. A bigger bulb would be good but do you have some type of ventilation?

its a closet, and yeah i got some fans, and a little vent system set up, and yeah i was thinking of starting with two plants, i have re-evaluated my space, i think a white widow and a skunk will do me well. A bigger bulb? maybe 400watts? i have the 250 still from my last grow and it worked fine for a plant, but i dont think it could do more than that? or maybe it could any thoughts?

I am using almost the exact same set up you are describing, 250 hps, my space is 24 in x 30 in and I am growing two plants no problem. Three would probably be doable but I wouldnt try more than that in that small of a space.

A word to the wise, if you are growing in an apartment, CHANGE THE ENTRANCE LOCKS.....Do not notify landlord...give NOBODY a key.....in the worst case, this will give you a head start, assuming you are not legal.

even with changing the locks you're really begging for trouble.

landlords are required by law to notify you 24 hours in advance that they are coming over. instead of a closet i would buy a cabinet and put a big padlock on it and trick it out for growing

With a little basic carpentary work you could make it look like it is part of your closet. When you move all that would be needed would be some spakle to fill in holes and then a coat or two of paint and the closet would be as before.
But whatever you do the idea with a lock on it is necessary. Not only do you have the landlord but there is maintaince to worry about too. Most places stray for bugs also. |

the best stealth setup ive ever seen i was actually a part of. we took a 14' by 10' room and tranformed it into a 10' by 10'. we scored and pulled up the carpet in the remaining 4'x10' area and framed another wall. on the other side we dry walled, taped, and painted it. it was seamless. it just looked like a regular 10' by 10' room. the only acess to the grow space was a door in the ceiling accessible only by the attic. this took a lot of time and effort but didnt cost too much.
