I got my setup in my closet about 2 by 4ft(width by length). Is leaving the closet door open all I need? It's only gonna be 2 plants... I'd be leaving the door open by about 3ft... if this isn't enough should I just buy a cheap little osculating fan?

What lights are you using? That will determine how hot it will get. You should always have a fan reguardless of temp, helps air movement.

cheap oscillating fan is very important, in a closet you will probally be ok with a small fan and leaving the door open !

Get fan. Hps and MH do get hot in small areas.
