Default SOG Setup Sugestions??

I have a few sproutlings and possible clones sprouted in my backyard (I have better success with outside sprouting in soil). I am going for an SOG where I will bring the sproutlings inside and veg for a week or two and then flower. In an SOG the plants will be small anway. Will it be a problem if I planted them in rows of dixi cups? The dixi cups are easy to organize and small. My goal is to maximize efficant use of my small space. Anyone see any problem with an SOG of Dixi's? (of course holes in the bottom for drainage!!)

Just one question .... are they clones or seedlings? Clones are cut from another plant, while seedlings grow from seeds.

And I personally wouldn't use dixie cups. Just buy cheap pots from an area walmart or something.

Mixture of clones and seedlings. I have seedlings that have sprouted in my outdoor sprouting area ready for transplant. I have one mother that I am patiently working with with known good genetics. I am having trouble with my clones, but I am trying various media and I will find one that works (rockwool is NOT working for me). I am trying that water cloning method. Its just with every time I try to clone it takes 10 days to see if it works, time consuming . When i do get clones, I will rapidly fill my SOG w\ clones

Are you using any kind of cloning powder or gel to help the clones take root? I don't know about just sticking your clone in water.

I didn't say it wouldn't work; I use water cloning for houseplants all the time. I'm just saying it would be smarter to use soil or rockwool with cloning powder or gel. Obviously you're not ready for quite so advanced methods if you are having such trouble cloning these plants. Take an easier route and you'll be happier with yourself and your finished product.

I am going to try peat moss\soil as my new cloning medium. Since it is SOG I do not have to worry about stunted growth from the nylon wrapping of peat cubes that some people do not like; The plants are staying small anyway.

I see no problem with bringing outdoor plants indoors. I always have had the best luck sprouting outside al natural. My growing cabinet since it is very small does not have the best of conditions for sensitive operations such as sprouting and cloning, but it does make due once the plants are rooted and healthy. Thats why I am switching to SOG.

I have the cabinet divided into two parts (divided by shelves), one devoted entirely to my mother so I can veg it and try cloning on it, and the other bottom part devoted to my small SOG, maybe 10-20 plants, then assuming I have to remove half for males.

why not let your plants mature outside... take a clone.... sex it.... hack your males and then leave your MOTHERS outside and clone off of them and SOG the clones. SOGing clones is better than seedlings, this way the clones are mature. or if you can't let your plants get big outside cause they'll get noticed just get another small box.. my mother box is 36" tall 16" wide and 16" deep. don't need much and just a few CFLs.

gl and let us know what you decide to do.
