Default metal halide
This bulb has an e27 fitting, which means it would plug into a standard socket, I was thinking of putting a few of these into the bendy necked desktop lamps for young plants

the light won't light without a ballast. A regular lamp wont put out enough power to run it. sorry ur gonna have to go out and buy a ballast.

Have seen those at the big box H/I stores; probably give off a fair amount of heat. Let us know your results.

They fit the edison 27 fitting which is a standard fitting, the description says that they are used in hotels and open plan offices, cant imagine them having to use ballasts for all of them so it must be a standard bulb that would run off a desktop e27 and seeing as its only 150w im sure a straight 240v socket would light one up.
