I've read many posts saying to get thicker dense bud, you need light penetration...(hps/mh)...If it's about penetration, could i just surround my two plants with T5 Ho flouros...like many others i dont want heat issues that require bulky fans and exhaust tubing...cutting holes in my walls to vent $hiot...I included a highly detailed (lol) illustration of my proposed idea for lighting my plants with flouro lights...

depends on your area you have to grow.I personally get very little heat from my 400 or 600 watt lights with no glass and just regualr air venting.1000 watter can heat up in a small are.T5s are great if you use the 8 4 foot tube setup with mixed bulds you can start and finish with no issues.A ton of cfl do heat up pretty fast though..Just remember that T5s are pretty exspensive about $35 per bulb unit...Its not all penetration eithe its the lumne output that fuels the plant to use its food during the growth of the plant.If it cant process enough food during photosynthisis because of lack of light intensity it will suffer and hold back it potential.Sincerely FilthyFletch

my grow area is 18" x 3' x 5'tall....tiny closet in my rv....the only way i could vent with stealth would mean cutting a vent trough wall or ceiling to outside air.

So you need 2 foot T5s then..how many plants you thinking maybe 2??

yea...i plan on two plants...I ordered six 2' T5 Ho from my local hydro store...pickem up tomorrow... starting w/6500k bulbs and then plan to change to red ones later

also got bubblicious seed on the way...I figured something fruity smelling...againg so i wouldnt have to vent to outside air....or buy expensive carbon scrubber

6 should be ok for 2 small plants just dont veg to long go to flower around 8 inches tall and let it finsh off maybe if needed add some more you can get 2 foot T5s at walmart or Lowes for about $20 each

i went to home depot and bought . they have 100 watt hps lamps for just around 1 hundred bucks. i bought three, i also have a 2 tube 4 ft floro above and two 4 ft floros on each side like your pic. the hps are surrounding the plants and its working good so far
