I am in the flowering stage of my first grow, and I vegged and started flowering with cfls in clip on lights. They were like 26w or something basic that I got from safeway, and cheap. I know that with the proper wattage you can take them all the way to harvest w/ cfls.
I'm glad I started out cheap and little, cuz I am looking at this grow as a learning adventure, w/ smoking benefits.

Very true. I started w/ cfls for $ reasons only. Now that they are flowering, I found it in my budget to get a mh & hps switchable ballast, cuz thats what I want; serious, fat, gooey, dense buds!
