yes. that's the sad part about fem seeds. hermie's make hermie's.

i'll be working with auh2 fem this year, though i plan on going coco....

so feminized seed are just seeds from hemaphraodites?

I grew their Arjan's. Tough plant, very tough actually. Check my gallery and you'll see how big that bastard can get.

yes.

there are ways to do this and trick nature, but it involves females that are resistant to turning hermie. ie, you muck the lights, bad temps, mites, bad nutes, etc, and it still won't herm, you have a fem capable of making fem seeds.

the use of acid is often used; a female is forced to reverse, and male pollen is harvested and applied to another stable female, unstressed.

this results in female seeds. however, you can still get males (they usually reverse in flower) and you can still get hermies. it opens the door to this undesirable trait.

I am growing a mandala's kalichakra. It has the sativa pheno. I flowered at 10" and is 4'2" at 46 days of flower. It is a 70% sativa and 30% indica. It should have been topped, but I was gowing for the 1 big main cola. I didnt get it. The side shoots at the 7-9 nodes have the biggest buds. I should have known it was going to be tall. I thought it was a male because it was the tallest and a strong grower, but the smaller one was male. I would at least top once, maybe twice. The "three times the size at start of flower" is not a reliable guideline with a mostly sativa strain.

dang, i think id better go for just the regular seeds i dont want to have to pick male flowers from my buds all the time, shame that, it says on the website 100% herm free, i asked them to back it up in an email but got no reply, seeing as how ive never worked with fem seeds i probably wouldnt understand anyway

I went with feminised seeds for my first grow from Nirvana. 10 out of 10 very healthy girls. I grew 6 of them and a friend had the rest, all very stable and not even any last ditch attempts from them to produce any pollen. There was nothing but prime bud.

For my 2nd grow I went for regular seeds, exact same conditions as my first grow and I got genetic hermies. I know it was genetic because the clones did the same thing...so I binned the lot and started a fresh. That was a very sad day and I am out of smoke at the moment because of it!

I'm now growing my 4th strain, Sensi Seeds Jack Herer, just regular seeds and all is going well so far. I'm nealry back to where I was when I killed all my hermies last year, except this time I have better genetics!

Good luck with your strain selection anyway, it's so tough deciding what to grow, there is just soooo much choice!

I used a 3 gallon pot flowered 14 weeks with 240 watts of flurecents it was 5'6 inches tall including the pot. Next time I will flower with a 400 watt hp sodium as hazes need alot of light.
