i bought two types of air stones and pumps to see witch works best
here is what i found. the walmart air stone that is totally encased in plasticis too restrictive and the petsmart bubble disc works great or the 4-12" air stones that are just stones with a fitting glued to one end also are good
the aqua culture 20-60gal airpump wasnt strong enough the tetra whisper 30-60gal was plenty of power now there is a price gap one is 10 and one is 20 dollars but i just wanted to know what other people used in their setups to see what the best thing is to use

Ihavent tried the ceramics yet. Ill test those too next. I really like the disc though it produces a large circle of fine bubbles perfect for a round container
like a bucket.

You can get circular ceramic airstones... I understand that they're easier to keep clean.
