how do i figure out how many lumens covers how much square feet. I had the formula somehwere in my notes but it's been misplaced evidently..

The plants need between 7-10 thousand lumens for optimal growth right? I've got a 15 square foot area.

Each fluorescent bulb has 60-70 lumens per watt. So if these ones from sears are 40 watts, then each bulb is 2400 lumens.

we dont really use lumens as a guide anymore, watts per square ft is more practicle. basically you want to have no less than 35w per sq ft... i recomend at least 50wpsf.

So it's wiser to just ask here. Is it optimal to let the plants grow to 3-6 feet before I put them into the flowering stage.

Because this one site is telling me it's more efficient to grow a bunch of small plants and flowering/harvesting them while they are smaller rather then growing a few big ones, and then having them flower.

Totally new at this so help a bro out.

totally.....absolutely....and contradiction is the norm. you have to try and wade through what makes sense and appreciate everyone's feedback cuz for them it makes sense or it has worked for them or they want to feel important...give them this .....but it comes down to you and your own circumstances. what your budget is, what your room size is, what your goal and objective is, what your temperament is, are you into DIY, are you plug and play, what constraints do you have, etcetcetcetc......and on an on.....I love to help where I can and seek help where I can get it....good luck and walk on!
