I know in the FAQ it says good yields have been achieved through the use of fluorescent lighting.

What I'm wondering most is if I were to use fluorescent tubes and achieve 100wpsm would the buds be of the same density as if I were to use my 400watt HPS?

100 watts from Fluorescent bulbs, is not sufficient for 1 square meter.. but 400 watts HPS is sufficient.

I meant to say, 100watts per square foot.

So if I were to buy, ten 20watt T12 tubes which make about 65lumens per watt, I'd be good right?
Thats something like 200watts, and around 13,000 lumens if I my calculations are correct.

Still wondering about how dense the buds would be from this type of lighting in a SCROG.

Probably not...

If you were to grow 9 plants in a 3x3 configuration and flowered when the plants had 4-6 nodes and used 400 watts of fluorescents ... I think you wold get 5 -10 ounces at the most...

If you used a 400 watt HPS you would most likely get at least 10 and maybe up to 20 ounces depending on strain and total health of the plants...
