1st LED GROW!

Hey RIU users! So this is my 1st LED grow technically.. to save me spilling my history of growing and everything click on my "current grow" in my signature, this was my first grow, i will probably update that thread aswell just becuz a few friends are subscribed and dont want to ditch them:joint: but i figured id start a new thread, kind of exciting:mrgreen:.

So here is the basic information on this grow.. i of course will add to this as people ask questions about things ive left out.

-45watt LED panel ("Glow Panel 45")>> http://www.greners.com/grow-lights/led-brand/glow-panel-45.html
-12 plants-kush clones from previous grow (3 different kinds)
-2'x2'x2' space under computer desk
-pro-mix HP (soiless mix) for medium
-Nutrients>> www.dutchnutrientformula.com
-home made pots out of the bottoms of 4L jugs (picture).. i cut them at 6" deep, they measure 4.5"x6"x6"

**Now of course i will be reconstructing this space (making it bigger) aswell with fans and a carbon filter becuz these babies already stink:hump: but this is just how i have it right now so they are neatly under the LED lighting and the temp is good and its a nice clean light reflective area as apose to what flys thru the air in this room (cat hair, dust, etc.).

there is only 8 in here right now, i transplanted them on Dec.13th.. 7 are "Number One" strain and 1 is "Number Four" strain of kush (picture).. i will take some updated pictures tomorrow becuz they have grown since these pics. i have 9 more rooting, they were just a little behind these ones..

so there will soon be 12 plants under here, i have 3 LST'd mothers at my buddies under my 1000watt MH 18/6.. 2 "Number One" plants and 1 "Peppy Le Purple" plant.. i had a "Number Four" plant aswell but i killed it due to mites so i might replace it depending how i like the strain, my "Number One" kush strain seems to root really easily and is resistant somewhat to bugs etc. it seems so im pretty confident in keeping this strain around.

oh and my LED panel runs 45 watts, not the 28watt one.. you will see in the advertisement that it says "Greners note - The panel used to consume 45 watts. Then the manufacturer got a new bulb set that produced the same output at 28 watts. Hence the confusion with the naming." so i have the original one, the only other difference that i could see was that on the box of MY 45watt it says compared to 250watt HID not "HPS" like the 28watt, but either way it runs good, and im very happy with it for little side grows.. havent flowered with it yet but not sure i will ever end up doing that n e ways becuz i have other HID setups (1000watt HPS on a light mover) however i may test it out sometime with autogrowers or something.

i usually blab on and on jumping around in what i say so bare with me lol but now im just going to post some pics and end with a couple questions:

-Does anyone have any experience with my LED panel?
-How long do you think my plants can last in those jugs before getting root bound?
-What do you think of my space vs. lighting?

thanx in advance, love you RIU! post away ppl:joint:

so right now my light is on 24/0. i plan to switch it to 18/6 (which is what i always prefer for veg. stage) when i get the other 4 plants in there which should be in a day or two.. then i will comepare the first 2 weeks of growth from each "batch" of plants.. the first 8 are veg'd on 24/0 for the first 2 weeks, then the new 4 will be veg'd on 18/6 for the first two weeks:blsmoke: then all continued on 18/6.. just a little experiment i wanted to try. i will then have an extra 5 plants that i can do what i want with...

these 12 plants i will be vegging under the LED for quite a bit until they can't fit any more or need to be transplanted.. then by this time i should have a grow tent or have built one about 4'x4'x6' mayb 5'x5'x7.5' tops in the corner beside this desk.. in that i will have my 400watt MH which i have a 7200k bulb for veg. and a 3200k bulb for flower.. then i also have a 1000watt HPS. SO i dont know if i will be vegging anymore when they go under the 400watt but i will be:

-flowering first 2 weeks with 7200k to help with stretch
-flowering second 2 weeks with 3200k to help with preflowers and slowly enduce red spectrum
-last 4 weeks or more of flower with 1000watt HPS (2000k)

thats what i would like to do anyways.. if something comes up or whatever i can still flower under the LED if i want but clearly id like to get the HIDs up.

oh and that bud shot is "Single A grade SHISHKABERRY" which everyone around here just calls "Locals" becuz it can change strains or whatever but it always smokes/looks the same for the most part becuz of the way it is grown. "Locals" in my area go for $350 a quarter pound, $1200 a pound. Good weed like "Purple Kush" and all that "Triple A grade" weed can somtimes get up to $4000 but usually stays around $3200 a pound

Ehm...I was just playing with conversions (I'm used to Grams and Euros) and found that you pay high quality (triple A, as you called it) marijuana just the same as we pay here in Italy, but what about the 1200$ a pound one?

We have some here we pay about 2,50 euro a gram (witch is about the same as 1200$ for a pound) but it really sucks it's outdoor with more seeds than resin...i use it only to cook!

How's yours instead?

u get seeds in it! that sucks man! i remember those days when i was younger getting weed like that with seeds in it from our friends parents or whoever who just grew some personal and screwed it up once in a while but now there is all kinds of strains/potencys.

the $1200 a pound weed is good for selling.. not worth it to grow really becuz you have to grow alot of it! its grown really quick, not sure on the exact method, but im sure all the growing corners are cutt to ensure steady production. I used to hate the stuff but to be honest i live in canada and in some of the little towns outside of the bigger ones (where i live) some of them dont even see good weed that often so someone could take a pound of "locals" from town thats $1200 and sell it out in the smaller towns close by for $2200 and its considered really good weed or atleast "double A grade" becuz they would normally see "barn weed" which is considered shit cuz its just local farmers growing they're own during the summer and selling it around town. i used to hate it cuz i was always around kush, all day everyday all kinds of kush and it was "AAAA" weed not to brag or anything but i was very pleased n e ways (guy i knew would fly to BC and grab all the time). But now that i grow my own and stopped hanging around certain crowds i smoke it sometimes becuz i get it free.. so i really can't complain.. its nicer now.. before it used to give me headaches.. but i will take a shot of a big bud of it sometime soon for you.. you will probably think its really good weed by the looks of it haha.

damn all those under 45 watts sounds like alot but hopefukky that led panel does good
ya thats what im wondering.. i figured i would test a 2'x2' area at the most first, then mayb jump down next time.. either way usually im suppose to be using party cups under the LED for 2 weeks becuz i can fit more.. i think around 32 actually.. then transplant to the 400 but im just taking it ez right now with where i go from here.. who knows mayb i will flower them under the LED and try for the 400 on the next batch.. but for now i really want to test this LED panel out cuz i might buy a bunch of the new ones for a stealthy cabinet grow.. i love how the panel fits perfectly under my desk just hope the space will work for the lighting.. the 8 plants i have under it now have bin doing really well.. we will c when it jumps to 12. If i do decide to flower under the LED i obviously wont be flowering all 12, there just wont be enough room.. although i could top all of them and take those as new clones then flower shortly after... we will c.

Any luck I ever had on LED panels was watt for watt. If I took out a 400 watt MH I had to use 350 watts or more of LED.

I've been on the indagro 400 induction bi-spectrum lights now for going on 7 months running 12/12 cycles. Ck out their website and grow pics. They run sooo much cooler and a 400 replaces a 750 HPS with longer lamp life and averaging 300 grams/meter with less then 1/2 the power consumption.

Best of luck

1. Ill wait for some else for that..But the smallest ive seen people use was the 90 watt ufo
2.i think the rule is a foot per gallon
3.I think your space is wwell for the lighting,

sounds goo you have any pics??
also i doubt it replaces a 750 hps thats like saying it would out perform 2 400s when i doubt it will out perform a 400 x 250 hps which is 650.Prob just does a little better than a single 400.Thats for sure..

are you going to be adding more light at all? sry if you addressed this, just woke up.
no right now what you see is a 15"x21"x24" space.. my info says its good for 6-18" away from the top canopy, compared to a 250watt HID, red and blue spectrum, 1.5' light spand or 5 square feet.. i figured id push for a 2'x2'x2' cab when i add the next 4 plants.. so i think it will be ok for now.. when i add the other 4 plants to make 12 i might add some 24-26watt t5s on the sides of the walls, i only have 2 right now but i might grab two more, 6500k.. this will be a nice stealthy little veg cab n e ways. if i flower with it then it will just be an experiment with like 4 plants.. or on a different note/grow with some autogrowers.
