MARY JANE MAGAZINES SET TO LAUNCH THEIR WEBSITE ON JANUARY 2nd, 2011
San Francisco, CA- Mary Jane Magazines, an online-based publication focusing on Cannabis Culture for Women, is set to launch on January 2nd, 2011. The launch comes on the heels of a 3 month long effort to redefine, promote, inform, and inspire women who are involved with cannabis, who are largest unrecognized population in the marijuana industry.
John Groe, Editor-In-Chief of Mary Jane Magazines, had this to say, “Women in the marijuana, cannabis, pot, weed industry have needed a publication like Mary Jane Magazines for a long time now. Most of the content available concerning culture and the lighter side of the industry is commonly served up in a male-dominated environment, where it’s only about strains, sex, women in bikinis, and a ‘damn the man’ attitude. On the more serious side, the efforts of WAMM, NORML and other reform groups have been astounding and are definitely needed, but those efforts commonly presented in a very legal and factual way which isn’t always easy to digest. Mary Jane Magazines brings a bit of fun and culture to the table, but from a feminine perspective.”
Mary Jane Magazines will focus on Arts & Entertainment, Health & Beauty, Home & Garden, Love & Sex, Business & Finance, Current Events, and a wide variety of other topics. Support for Mary Jane Magazines via Social Networking sites, online polls, and direct word of mouth has been astonishing, gathering thousands of subscribers in only a few short weeks. That current subscriber base is projected to escalate dramatically once the site launches on Jan 2nd, 2011. Attorneys, politicians, and co-op owners are especially interested as the site has an extensive Resources page which will have a direct influence on a specific, and largely untapped, market segment.
Kyndra Miller, Founder of CannaBusiness Law, Inc had this to say, “I hope that [my] participation in Mary Jane Magazines will further the cause!”
Further the cause is right. Mary Jane Magazines is scheduled to launch soon after California’s largely divided Prop 19 vote on November 2nd. Prop 19 fueled debates in almost every corner of the U.S. concerning the position of Medical Marijuana.
“Legal & Political coverage is one of MANY topics covered by MJM, but not the only ones. While the Proposition was an incredibly significant topic for Medical Cannabis patients, California, and the Nation, there are other topics such as tradeshows, research advancements, hydroponics, fashion, even news from the food and beverage sector that don’t get the attention they deserve. Marijuana is becoming more and more mainstream and Mary Jane Magazines exists to cover that progression.” Groe added with a smile.
