Soil question!

I transplanted my plant in a pot 5 times bigger then the last one,
but I ran out of soil. So I went to my backyard and dug up soil which when I water it turns all gooey and muddy. Its pretty much 50% Organic soil and 50% Backyard soil that I had to use. My question is, is this going to mess with my plant? Is their any sideeffects? Was it a bad idea?

Its just normal soil, grass was growing on top of it, but when I water it turns muddy and gooey.
Your not answering my question lol. Im already giving you the details.

I think if you are growing outdoors, as your sig states, I think all of the back yard dirt you can dig up, the better.

this might be a little off the subject but if your having a potting soil shortages...i use a handfull of hydroton grow medium mixed up in my 5x5 square pots. it seems to help stretch the soil little bit and makes for quick drainage. goodluck with your grow
