Hey all...well today I get my clones and yesterday I picked up all my necessity's to start my veg closet. I will undoubtedly have lots of questions but for now two main ones.

1. After the transplant should I feed the ladies

I've amassed quite a bit of stuff for this little veg closet but seems like overall as much as I spent it seems well worth it.

So the actual dimensions of the room are 7' high x 4'.9'' long x 2' deep. I have also covered the the inside of the doors with the black/white plastic. The other walls/floor wasn't necessary due to those being white.

The only "advanced" technique I"m going to try is the "let it rain" (hence all the questions) but no LST or scroggin..possible top off but I have to read up on it more.

As for equip/Nutes here's a list with prices..please feel free to tell me either great score or if I payed too much

T5 2ft 4 tube Premier system 121.95
Ecotest PH2 85.95
Roots Organic Soil 1.5CF 21.50
HydroFarm Dual Digital Timer 21.95
indoor/outdoor Hydro-thermometer 21.95
Easy Glider Light Kit 19.95
Pro PH UP/Down 19.00 (total)
Roots Organics Buddha Grow 17.07
black/white plastic 9.30 (10ft)
PH 7.0 Calibration solution 7.54
3x 6 in. mesh baskets 3.54
Sprayer 32 oz 2.49
3x Clear Saucer 1.44
Measure cup 8oz 1.00

I also had a cheap thermal fan but you can buy one at walmart for about 25 or so. Also two (possible 3) five gallon pails.

Also downloaded "I-herb" off of here..great little program IMHO.

So that's it for now..I've put in a few pics of the closet and one of the closet with the lights off..yes I know their is some light leak but for now there's not a lot I can do about it...I can't pin the plastic too tight b/c I need to work in their but it should be adequate
..

OK so a few minor adjustments to the OP. These plants are not "lemon Skunk" but actually "Jack Flash" by Sensi seeds. I came to this conclusion after talking to the person that got the clones for me he said that are "super skunk" after doing a bit of research I noticed that this particular strain has a "lemon taste" to it...that's something that's missing from most of the skunk strains I read about, however I know that which I smoke has a very nice lemon taste..so for now..until they grow out more that's what I'm going on.

Also I brought both nutes back today and picked up one that would coincide with my soil.

Roots Organics Buddha Grow 17.07

The last little bit I did today was turn the heat off in the closet...too warm for my liking (around 85.0 F)although the relative humid is only about 39%

Now for the first of many questions...I received the two clones in rock wool. I'm 99% sure that this will be ok to put directly into pots however, these clones are usually grown in hydroponics soo??

Day two has come and gone and not without bumps (should be expected at my level) but overall the girls look healthy and happy. Gave each one a flush today and ran into some PH issues (nothing that can't be overcome) Put the rockwool cubes into my roots organics mix and the lights should be going off in a little while here. Also cut some dead leaf ends off to help promote growth. Took some pics for you all and I've also come to some conclusions.

1. Make it rain: I'm sure I'm going to try to implement this method however I think it will take at least a few grows under my belt to be able to get it down pat.

2. LST, SCrog, Top Off: Originally I wasn't going to do any of these however after reading up on them and also from the advice from my grower a scrog setup wouldn't be too hard to maintian..just a question on it if anyone can answer...how exactly do I tie the plants down...I have some very small zip ties that I want to just bury in the soil. Also when should start this?

Last but not least a question of relative humidity. It seems as though that 35-40% is about as high as I'm going to get for right now...do any of you think this is too little

Day 3

The girls look great (at least to me) I plan on going with the entire roots organics line in two weeks (I was told by some of you and also at the hydro store that the soil has enough nutes for around a month)

The only time I've used nutes was about a two weeks ago this caused a few PH problems so if they look small I believe that's the reason. The main cause of the PH problems was the person I got the clones from is using hydro and thus hydro nutes and as I've read hydro ideal pH is lower than soil so I've had to raise it a bit through multiple flushes.

Anyway here are some pics..the two on either end are the oldest and the one in the middle I've only had for 10 days

More pics too come tomorrow...stay tuned

looks great, to tie them down i use gardening wire from Lowes, tie to top of branch and slowly bend over and tie it off to the base of the plant

Just a quick update. Gave the ladies their first real feeding last night...took some pics beforehand to keep track and to show off my beauty's. Any input on health or general questions feel free to ask. Two of the girls are a little over a month and the third was cloned at the same time however I received it a week after wards.S8000066A.jpgS8000065A.jpg

yea lighting of the pic...I have the light literally right over them so it's tough to take a properly lit shot without moving them out into regular lighting.

The girls are looking good..I've given them their first proper feeding according to the roots organics system. Very pleased so far...One more month and they should be ready to flower. I predict Massive plants at the end of it all...they're already well up to my knee and I'm 6ft tall.

Hudson well I'm going to have about 7 ft to play with once I get my grow tent. I really was trying to avoid having to LST only due to the fact that this is my first grow and I didn't want to try anything too advanced. I'm assuming another reason your suggesting LST is due to the significant cola growth I could get. Definitely has crossed my mind..maybe this week, after I do some more research.

Slight PH Lockout of Magnesium is happeing on the girls one poor babe has it pretty bad. I'm left with a problem (other than correcting the PH which I"m finding more and more diffiuclt with soil.) Do I chop the leaf off or leave it? Normally I would just chop and forget HOWEVER these are fan leaves (basically the main leaves that make the food for the plant [at least that's what I"ve read here] )

On a more pleasent note I'm starting the girls on full strength nutes today.

Oh and as one last side note, I am running a completley organic feeding schedule. As most of you know it's very hard (admittingly not impossible from what I"ve looked at) to burn with organics. So at this point, after reading reading and researching I have no doubts in my mind that this problem is a MG problem vs nute burn.)

Mag lockout was my very first problem, /tear, it's the reason I'm strict on my PH now.

According to Jorge Cervantes, you shouldn't cut fan leaves unless they are at least 50% damaged.

bongsmilieOOOOH! ^ That was my 100th post!

I didn't notice if you were using a PH buffer in your soil. Using fine Dolomite Lime in your soil as an additive helps by keeping the PH in check. The PH wont swing as wildly up as it tends to do in soil as it's drying.

Hay happy 100th post. I"ll have to get some dolomite lime (lowe's?) and add that...semi annoyed at the fact that I payed for this nice organic soil (Roots Organics) and they don't add enough lime *sigh*. Thanks for the good tips though...I have a great Jorge DVD that I may watch just to freshen my mind up a little. Hopefully pics to come tonight.
