The difference between the 2: -Canna: A dutch company who has specialized in MJ nutes for the past 29 years. They need no special advertising, and they give top of the line results. -While AN is your typical company who is pouring as much money as possible into advertising, and giving the consumer a VERY basic/average nutrient setup. I wish I could find my new camera, and show you what lush is. I have been really babying my Utopia Hazes, and being VERY specific on their Canna feedings, and they are some of the healthiest, tallest, bushiest plants ive seen. If you can't trust a 30 year old, Dutch, marijuana nutrient company, then I dont know who you trust... |

Just because someone's been doing it longer doesn't mean they do it better.
Who's been making cars longer, Ford or Honda? Who makes better cars? Doesn't matter. Because how long you've been doing something only matters if it's something you can brag about in a commercial. How well you do something is all that's important unless your business hinges upon long-term stability. If it's important to your growing today whether the company you bought the nutes from is likely to be around in 30 years then yes, how long they've been in the business is important. People like to say Advanced Nutrients spends loads of money on advertising but that's not based on anything I've seen. They hardly advertise at all. Weeds - that's what you'll point to first. You'll guess (key word here is "guess") that AN spends a lot of money to get their product on Weeds but you'll just ignore all the articles we've read saying that Big Mike is a consultant on the show. Consultants don't work for free. Probably doesn't cost them a cent to get their stuff on the show. Maybe you'll say that the flashy labels cost a lot. Doesn't cost any more to print than any other color label, and it's a one-time cost to design. I've heard all the crap and that's all it is. To date I've never seen anyone actually back up the claim that AN spends all this money on advertising with something real. It makes sense to me that the money is actually going where they say it is. Research, all the charity work they do, stuff like that. But hey, everyone that buys AN is gullible anyway so why listen to what I think? |

Canna is the shit.
I've been using them for the last few years. There nutrients and additives have always performed well for me. I use the Canna Substra Vega and Flores in my hydro running to waste set up. I'm sure the Canna Terra for soil is just as good. One thing I notice since using Canna is I get very little yellowing during flower because there Flores has plenty of N in it. When used in conjunction with the Canna PK it's a great combination for successful problem free flowering. Canna Rhizotonic is excellent for early growth and root development and I start my seedlings and clones on it from day 1. Cannazym I run with the entire grow right until chop. It's a great mix of enzymes and vitamins that the plants love. Canna PK 13/14 is the absolute best booster I've ever used. It's only used during week 5 but it makes a hell of a difference. Check out my current grow to see the benefits of using Canna.

So far Rhizotonic has saved the following plants. -Completely dormant Lime three (9 - 10 feet tall) that lost 100% of it's vigor in 4 weeks of freezes. It took 2 months but 50% of the foliage has returned. It was fed a steady died of Rhizotonic and Superthrive. -3 Split Leaf Philodendron Monstrosa which were grown in the same pot. The separate of the root balls was VERY traumatic. 1 of the plants got 95% of the roots, the other two had just 'fine hairs' at the trunk base and started drooping and yellowing 24 hours after transplant. 3 weeks of Rizo and they bounced back with vengance. All 3 have sprouted at least 2 leaves in the last month. -1 vining philodendron. My wife neglected to water her only plant for 6 months, the only moisture it got was what it could get from the air. 60% of the vines died and fell to the ground. 3 remaining vines were beginning to yellow. I watered it 1 gal a week with 15ml of Rhizotonic for two weeks and it had already sprouted 6 new vines which as of tonight are crawling down the side of the pot. -2 Lantana babies My wife brought home these two lantana bushes in a single pot and asked me to 'make them huge like her grandma's' So I got some 3 gal nursery pots and decided to repot them out of the single pot that Target had put them in. One got planted immediately ... Then all hell broke loose at work and I had to leave the house for 20 minutes. The second one had sat on the concrete, in the sun, with bare roots and no water for almost 45 minutes before I got back to it. Planted it in the remaining Fox Farm and put it on a Rhizotonic feeding schedule. It definitely looked like it was going to die for 2 straight weeks while the other one flourished. After checking this evening all of the leves have turned towards the sun and 3 new flowers have budded. I think that I will gladly stick to Canna Nutes. Sure they're on the expensive side, but a grow like MJ is so valuable just on the risk involved, not mentioning any potential profit that I know no one here is getting, that it'd be a shame not to give them the best life possible. I will definately be joining the Canna bandwagon. -RT76 Last edited by RetiredToker76; 05-14-2009 at 08:05 PM.. |

I've been using Biovega, Rhizotonic, and Cannazym on my house plants, let's just say the tiny Jade plant I'm growing from a cutting is no longer tiny after getting some Canna nutes, it's getting huge. Nothing seems to make my spider plants happy though, I just think they aren't getting enough sunlight. I can't wait to try Flores on them...

A FOAF just started using Canna Aqua A/B, Rhizotonic, and Cannazym about a week ago in a drip system. He changed from using General Hydroponics 3-part and Floralicious Grow. What he has said about the pH is that it is not a stable as what he was seeing with the GH. It keeps rising a bit, +.5-1pH, daily and is needing adjustment. With the GH, pH adjustment was not needed with weekly res change or was being fixed by the daily top off
I assume this could easily be fixed by adjusting the pH of the daily top off to 4.5-5pH, or maybe even lower. Last edited by LowEnder; 06-10-2009 at 07:45 PM.. |
