Leaves curling up?

I woke up this morning, and on one of my plants the fan leaves are curling upwards and are taking on this yellowish color. The leaves are very brittle....

No nutes yet, other than a little blood meal in the soil. Soil was organic.....

Do you think it's too much N in the blood meal?

Pics are here in my journal

Thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated

So you think it's a temperature thing? I've actually raised the lights within the last couple of weeks because I thought my original problem with my plants was a heat issue

jomal, that's nute burn and overwatering. and if your leaves start to curl upward, that is heat stress, you can be sure it's heat stress if the serations (the blades on the edges of the leaves) starting pointing up first. like shark fins!

I water them 4-5 days apart and the lights are like 6" from the plants how is that heat stress??

So do you think I should flush to fix the nute problem?

That depends, if your nutes are premixed into the soil, then flushing will further the problem (has been my experience, as it opens more morsels of ferts, thus fertilizing more). If you are adding the nutes yourself and the soil was nutritionally void before, then yes, flush the fuck out of it... 2-3 times the capacity of the bucket is the general rule. If you have a 5 gallon bucket, flush with 10 gallons of water atleast.. it's laborious too, but make sure not to let the water go down the sides of the pot, allow it to absorb into the middle, then come back and add more and more, tallying the jug everytime you've emptied it into the pot (to keep count). Let us know how it goes :)

OK well the soil didn't have anything in it but I put some Blood Meal in there because I heard the works well....so no additional nutrients in the form of powders or liquids, but there is blood meal in the soil

Why would this be affecting two of my plants (One a lot worse than the other) and not all 3? All 3 were planted with the same mix?

And by the way, my 'blades' never curled up? It's the entire leaf that curls up....

And the other plant that is harmed, but not quite bad, has irregular growing leaves. They're twisting and turning randomly, they look sick or something :(

Blood meal can burn.

Also, your plants are going to need a nutrient solution that has an array of essential main nutrients aswell as trace minerals, that play a vital role in those nutrients being delivered to the plant. So, find one :) Essentially, miracle grow has all those things, but, you want it in a less potent version, NOT miracle grow. k. thx. if u need tips on nutes, ask that question.

Like platinum says....looks like burn from the blood meal man. That's strong stuff for such a small plant. Your temps sound ok, little high maybe, but generally ok. What's your R/H at?

You're using a good quality potting compost, so there's no need to give any additonal feed hardly at all during veg. They will feed off the soil, especially in a big pot. I only really feed during flower and just re-pot into fresh soil during veg. They will feed quite happily off fresh soil for 2-3 weeks, but they will tell you when to feed them. Don't just add nutrients for the sake of it.

Hopefully if you give the medium a good flush, the plant will recover ok for you. Good luck.

Thanks for your help all

I'll flush the 2 plants that look sick tonight....hopefully that'll help...I'm just doing what everyone here told me to do as this is my first grow....hopefully that won't get me into more trouble than it already has............

keep things simple, like others have said a normal balanced compost will feed it through veg so dont be temted to feed to much like i do sometimes.what sort of light are you usng?
