I have a hard time with the smell in my house. it's in the basement and have a carbon filter and still no help...any advice?

ok...it is a 12 inch fan and the carbon filter has 12inch flange is 62in. tall....i hope that is enough info for u to give some advice.

Have you got a large enough filter and in line fan? A filter should get rid of the vast majority of the unwanted odours you have if it is installed properly and you change to activated granules once every few grows.

I have the largest fan and filter....What are activated granules?

granules are what the charcoal canister is packed with. it may be old. after an extended period of use the charcoal gets "dirty". my buddy tried to repack one once and ended up with a big mess. he found it easier to just replace it.

You could try some Ozone lights. Anyone else want to comment on that??

What exactly are you using? Carbon scrubber? filter? What size? Type & size of fan?

If i knew more i could help. (FYI) If you have the largest carbon scrubber knownn to man you shouldn't have any smell problems.

Start with what others have suggested. Seal the best you can and replace your carbon. Carbon only last a couple grows or much less if the room has high humidity. Buy some peletized bituminum based carbon not granular or coco based carbons. If your scrubber is filtering room air this will help. If your scrubbing air as it is exhausted outside this will do nothing to help house odor. If nothing else get some strawberry air fresheners.

I've used almost everything except the ozone lights. Truth is scrubber works the best and everything else just helps a little. I use a negative ion generator, ozone generator, ona bucket, pinesol bucket and ona block in ducts.
