I read on a post or two here that said using a visa giftcard was a good way to stay anonymous.....WRONG. I got one the other day and you have to give your name and freakin soc. sec. number, address, phone number.....the works. I got screwed because of this...The teller said I didn't need any personal info to buy the dam card (which was true).....but she didn't tell me that in order to activate the thing you have to give all that info. I was pissed I had 300 bucks on the stupid thing and you have to pay fees for anything and it takes a week to get the real card that can be swiped at a store. It sucked even more because I had to use that money to pay for an order of nutes immediately....so my info is with the order, but I did get it sent to a dif. address. I'm sure I'll be alright as the purchase was just nutes but I thought I'd give everyone a heads up about these pre-pay cards. (I'm done bitching now)

That sucks but you guys still shouldnt worry that much, people buy seeds with their credit and debit cards all the time, if customs catches you for the first time, its a slap on the wrist letter

That's funny, I did the EXACT same thing today - I bought a prepaid Visa for $300 at Walgreens, then realized you had to give all your info to activate the thing, plus pay $15 to activate, and $15 a month. I activated it and when I did they also gave me an ATM pin. I plan on withdrawing all the money as soon as it comes in and then closing the account before I get charged again. I went back to Walgreens and got the Visa gift card instead. Its different than the pre-paid one and comes in fixed denominations. You don't have to give any info and you don't have to activate it -- just like a regular gift card. I wish I would have seen your post earlier!

i used them before the only info they wantend from me was the shipping info and if you by from a normal store they dont ask anything

i'm talking about activating it. You can't just put money on the giftcard ones and then spend it anonymously. They do a check to see if your info matches too.

so when i give some one a gift card how are they going to use it if im the one that bought it . people have giving me them before and i used it right away with out activating it or maby the person that bought it did that but how would i have used it? i dont know i have one now i going to order something and see what happens it wasent that particuler site you where on? im not calling you i liar by anymeans just when i used them all i had to do is give them my name and shipping address but like i said im going to try it thanks for the warning

and the gift card you got wasent the real gift card you had to wate for one wierd. maybe the one i had was a mastercard gift card like a said my girlfriend just bought me one im going to be pissed if i cant use this and have to wate for another one
