Well since theres no General Discussion sub forum I figured this would be the most appropriate place to make a thread regarding this. I'm getting an operation done on the 18th of December and I have to get a pre-surgery physical I was wondering if they test for drug use? If they do, am i safe? I smoke weed 1-2 times a week and how long will it take to flush out of my urine/blood?

Is there any reason they should care? I have always been honest with doctors about my drug use. If they have any interest in it, it is only to better diagnose your illness. Unless this doctor is directly involved with your job or probation/parole officer (if you have one), I really wouldn't worry about it. In all of my years of being totally honest with doctors about the myriad of drugs I have put into my body, the only response I have ever received was "You should really stop smoking cigarettes". So, seriously, don't sweat it.

I had open heart surgery back in march.

Prior to - as well as after, I sometimes smoke 3-4 times a day. Been like that for 5-6 years.

Nobody ever said a word - even after having my lungs seen in the open....

If youre worried, heres a remedy that wont cost an arm and a leg, go to the store and buy a packet of Fruit Pectin....its what they make jelly with...mix 1 packet (they usually come with two) with 16 oz. of gatorade...drink it, piss once...take your test with in 2 hours.
I have personnaly done this twice and passed twice.

im afraid i have to disagree with pencap. go to hightimes.com and click on their drug test link they will tell you everything you need to know and unlike that crazy myth you just read above, they actually tell it to you pretty straight. pretty much it varys person to person but the average is a week for the pot to flush out of your system.

The last time I got drug tested for a job, I just went to GNC and bought one of those herbal cleanse drinks. It was in the neighborhood of $50, but follow the directions and you'll pass. I smoke 1 to 2 times a day and had no problems and friends have had the same results.

But if you're going to do this, you CANNOT tell them its to pass a drug test, they will refuse to sell it to you. I've had them turn down numerous friends who are idiots. Just say you want to herbal cleanse, this is what I bought.

But honestly, if it's for surgery and they're giving you a physical, be honest with them. Doctors don't care if you smoke pot, they just don't want any unforeseen complications in surgery. And furthermore, they dont want a malpractice suit either.
