Default 350WATT cool white (Blue spectrum) CFL VS. 600WATT HPS(red spectrum) for Veg stage

What would perform better during vegetation assuming same temps etc, would the 350 watt CFL grow light that is blue spectrum be better, or the hps with almost double the wattage but with a mainly red spectrum be better for veg?

I assumed the CFL because even though it had almost half the wattage of a HPS, plants need more of the blue spectrum during veg?

    Use Both.....
Want to tell someone they should do a search on the site/research more while you dont bother to address the question or provide links? please remember this-
"some people learn better through interaction and discussion than studying on their own, like kids who do better in school with a tutor to interact and discuss what they are trying to learn. we dont all learn the same way."
and then hit the back button.
    Thank you.

If you go with hps make sure you get a switchable ballast so you can run a MH bulb during veg. Although hps is good and powerful and shoots off alot of lumens. Its spectrum is not ideal for veg. Then when ready to flower switch to hps bulb. You could even run that cfl through veg then switch to hps during flower. Im surprised no one said that on here.
That is not my real first or last name so stop asking me. Please.

if your growing 1 or 2 plants then use the cfls. your practiclly just wasting money by using the hps until they flower. ive seen a lot of plants on here vegged with hps and they looked stretched out. i started my grow with 100w of cfl per plant. it was plenty of light (and u have more than that!) .......... OR you could start your plants off under the hps and do 1 with cfls (for veg) and tell us (with pics) wich one looks better.
check out my grow: WOW shes flowering fast! <<< go to last page... everyone needs to live in canada.....

that is completely false, the growth rate with my 400w hps greatly outperforms my former 800w of cfls, the growth rate difference is incredible. it is not waste in any way shape or form. it is nothing against you of course. this thread is extremely old btw. lol
