So this is my new grow. I am doing a SOG with about 3 plants per sq ft. I have 2 of my 600 watt Lumetek High PAR HPS bulbs on 12/12 on a dual 600 watt Lumatek digital ballast. I finished my 5th week of flowering today. Here are some pictures I just took.. I am running Canna nutrients (except for House and Garden Root accelerator and Drip Clean). Still have a good 3-4 weeks left so they should really start to swell over the next few weeks.. I can't wait.. I think I may be spoiling my collective members with this one.. It looks really good...... About to plant the other side of the garden.. The side pictured here is Skywalker Master Kush, Kushberry (Blueberry x OG Kush) and Purple Blue Dream. The next side will be Nebula and Blackberry Kush..

A few more updates with some pictures from this morning. Today completes 6 weeks in flower.. I am guessing another 3 weeks.. Let me know if you agree with me on 3 weeks left. Buds appear to really be adding size now. I am going to run this week with nutrients and then flush for 2 so hopefully things continue to go as they have been..

Thanks!! I will let you know what it winds up at. In this type of set up, you don't get huge yields per plant as they are basically just one large Cola each. I will be very happy with anything over 1 oz per plant. If I break 1.5 oz's per plant, I will shit egg rolls!!!

When is anytime. If yo are growing indoors, you don't have seasons to worry about. The how part really depends on strain and how much room you have to work with. I do an extremely high plant density (3 per sq ft) because I don't have lot's of room to work with. If i had more room, I would still run a SOG, but I would probably go out to about 1 plant per sq ft as it gives me much greater flexibility of what strains I can grow. The way I do it, you are trying to just create all top colas so all top shelf huge nugs. I will only get One large Cola per plant. That is it. A few may have some very minimal side branching, but I mean side branches that are under 6 inches total. So the goal is to have no side branching at all. This will direct all energy into producing one large cola along the central growth stalk. Again though, this isn't going to work with every strain so if you go like I do and have a high density of plants per sq ft, than you really need to work with strains that grow tall and straight and don't get bushy (or that have the potential to grow that way). Most OG's seem to work well. Some of the Kushs work well.. Anything that looks like a bush or a pine tree won't work..

So I harvested the one runt I had a week early (today). This plant was less than 1/2 the size of the rest easily.. I had to pull it out as it never kept up with the canopy.. So I kept and flowered it to finish.. So I harvested today.. It was one cola but it was so dense that I broke it up as I was afraid of mold. I couldn't get inside the buds and remove the stems of the fan leaves and I was afraid they would rot and be a start for mold. so I broke it down.. These buds are SO DENSE!! I weighted this out wet and it was 52 grams.. So I am expecting just over 1/2 ounce. If that holds true and I estimate conservative side I get.. 30 plants that are at least twice this size in an area of 9 sq ft under 1200 watts.. So 30 plants at 1 oz per plant (twice the small one I just harvested and this is extremely conservative), So that gives me 30 oz's plus this 1/2 so 30.5 ounces 869.25 grams, so I get .724 grams per watt. Now this is an extremely conservative estimate. But even then, this is all top cola bud!! I think a more accurate estimate will be using 1.3 oz's per plant which will give me: 1126.5 grams or .939 grams per watt. So if this is what I wind up with next week I will be pretty pleased. I want to run another crop under the same conditions and this time give each plant 1 sq foot and allow for a bit of branching and compare the harvest to see which SOG method is more efficient and which one produces better overall quality.. I am thinking that this method with tighter plant spacing does as all the buds are simply top center colas that are the most dense swollen nugs you have ever seen.. I am pretty happy with this as this plant I just harvested was not even 1/2 the plant of the rest of the crop..
