Certainly not accusing anyone is this thread...but the thread reminded me of it. Ultimately...you are successful or unsuccessful at growing one of the easiest to grow plants in the world.
Pretty much every commercial plant out there is as difficult or moreso. People with gardens of any sort are at your level. People with flowers of any sort are at your level.
People that maintain their lawns and have lush, green ones? They could grow the best pot in the world if they bought the right seeds.

It isn't like wine where it takes generations of vines to produce better wine. Where you need a very specific soil type and weather for ideal results for that special strain...weed is so much less finicky than that.

You order seeds...and in two weeks you can have the best genetics in the world germinating. Most of the strains will grow indoors or outdoors. There many be a few that really would be a P.I.T.A. in certain conditions...
but there will be a 1,000 strains that will not.

meh disagree.. To grow the best weed you need to give it the best conditions. However peoples views on what those exactly are (temp/hydro/soil/air pot/diff nutes) differ.. And you there isn't better soil types and weather conditions for different strains.. It isn't that hard, but there is a reason that the best weed in the world (or highest quality) isn't being grown by someone only 1 year into growing.. just my 2 cents though

That's a VERY safe bet!!! There are lots of home-growers across the U.S. --- OK, let's not discriminate here, that should be across the PLANET --- who regularly grow shit that blows away anything some commercial schmuck is growing to compete with. The Cannabis Cup is a popularity/political contest and nothing more. Who is best? That is a purely subjective question so there can be NO right answer! But there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of us out here who are growing weed that defies description --- but we couldn't give a rat's ass about competing with others.

That's why I truly believe that if I encounter a member who wants to constantly show off his stuff, then I KNOW that member is a kid or a Cop. NO serious grower in the U.S. (This may not hold true for our brothers/sisters in other countries) would post pictures of his crops or do grow journals on a forum like this. That's just stupid, and an immature way of begging to get busted/ripped off. A SERIOUS grower (which I am not -- disclaimer) doesn't EVER do anything to attract attention to himself or what he is doing. He is very discreet and stays "Under the radar" because that's how our kind stay alive and free.

I heard there's a competition in Colorado where people bring there own grown weed and it is judged by a team of scientists who analyze it in a labratory to measure THC and CBD content. I'd be interested to find out what strain wins
