Hi, this is also be in the FAQ subject but I have no knowledge of this. All i know is that my friend got setup and there was a tracking device put into his vehicle most likely gps signal. Does anyone here know what we should look for if there is a tracking device in your equipment ect.?

Let it begin! I fear sometimes when ordering from websites that they might put tracking devices in your equipment such as ballast or whatever you have sending to you. Reason why im worried is because i've been ordering from the same hydro store for a long time now and things seems to be too quiet, it probably is but i just want to be sure. I'm going the extra mile to keep growing safely which is the #1 priority, do you?

That sounds a bit......unethical. Would a search warrant be needed prior to planting the device? Sounds similar to phone taps.

this is strictly federal cases guys, dea works this way. Just because your nobody in this state and you do your dirt in another state doesn't mean leo doesn't know you in your hometown. I'm just looking for someone who has knowledge in these kinds of devices and how they work, what they need to be kept battery operated, and is there any way we can block the signal.

@inrainbows, all they need is not a search warrant but a approval from a federal judge so yea something similar to a wiretap.

While I do not discount the possibility...

But, come on. Who puts it on the equipment? The merchant you buy it from? The cops? Come on that equipment costs money, and fairly expensive at that. The shops have the shipping address. Why wouldnt they just get a court order for the records of sales? Hell of alot easier and cheaper. Technically speaking there is nothing illegal about purchasing lights and equipment. While we all know what the potential uses of this equipment is, what about those people that buy this equipment to actually grow tomatoes and cabbage? If your that paranoid, order the shit and when you get it, take it apart and search for the device and if you find it drop it in the toilet. BOOM its dead, all they will have is the last signal point, it wont mean a thing.

because first off hydro store guys atleast the cool ones destroy their records(or you give them false information i hope), and second you dont have to send your equipment direct to your grow area which i do and they the smarter folks which also thinks of it too.

They can always intercept between shipments of order and let you do your thang for yrs. All i know is that the feds, they don't get you right away they let you have your fun and hit you when you decide to chill.

no they don't watch people and wait for a luck to come by, they get tipped off and start to investigate. But your taking my thread to another subject here, i asked who here has knowledge of gps devices.

Why would they go through all that to bust you?

Tracking a growlight would more likely get them sued than a arrest to brag on. All kinds of home gardners use lights, nutes etc.

If they think you're on the grow....They'll come knocking. They dont need to "know". They just need to suspect and have a bit of something to attain a warrant.

If they want to see where a light is shipped to....UPS or the delivery service has all the info. Records from a shop can be destroyed by a shop owner....But UPS/Fed-Ex/USPS WILL give the info leo requests.

But....The technology to track is everywhere. Credit cards, cellphones, On-Star or car security. It can be done easily. Its just not practical.
