*i was researching via backposts and found this:
usually purple stems indicate lack of phosphurous. or a cold rootzone or soile that is too wet. might i ask what ,how much, and how often u feed it and what kida on lighting u is using aswell as the air temp. then we may be able to accurately figure out ur problem. i had posted about that exact prob and can totally see where the cold root zone could be my problem or lack of ph. is there anyway to save a plant /w this prob? i added some triple phosphate to my plants(just a tiny bit because i have been known to "joan of arc" a plant or two /w phosphate) and overnight they seem to have turned a lil greener and have grown a bit. whadda ya think?

What is your grow area temp? What temp range do you keep your area?
What are your ph levels? What fertilizers are you using? Purple stems don't always indicate a problem could just be something that strain produces. |

*sorry i am technologically behind. i have no pics. they are doing great now. i think it was the combination of weak nutrients and cold temperatures. they are all strong and rooting after i added some molasses. we will see what happens next. you guys have been helpful. thank you.

*hey mogie. the temp of the area i am keeping my seedlings is anywhere from 70-80. i have no idea what the ph levels are. i have yet to become that indepth in my growing. i suppose that could be my next upgrade. for some of the plants i am using a mix of organic fertilizer and compost. the ones that were small enough to transfer i moved over to a jiffy garden.
i noticed the ones that had alot of the purplish hue pulled through but do not seem as strong. the rest came through and are looking good. i do believe a cold-spell was the culprit. thank you for all your info. |

i wanted to thank everyone who has offered me some of the best advice ever!
my gals and i are doing well. they are setup outside in perlite. which i give a lil sip of fish emulsion/molasses to at every feeding. i am now making my way into the great adventure which is cloning. so far, so good. i would post pics but i live on a farm and am lucky to have dialup to access the internet. so me uploading digi pics is not very realistic at the moment. anyway, point of post is a big ol' thank you!
