most of the time it has to do with saving face. after they get to know you and if they know your medical most ofthe time they will speak freely.

Do a google search on "Operation Green Merchant" and you will understand why hydro store guys won't talk to you. They will generally kick you right the fuck out if you mention it.

They post signs generally stating that so it shouldn't come as a surprise. You can usually say anything you want to them like "I have some babies with white powdery mildew, what do you have to help with that?" and you'll be fine. But if you say "I have some marijuana clones that I need....shhhh, get the fuck out"

2nd amendment?? I'm not sure their right to bear arms will allow them to talk about how to grow weed. It would however make someone listen VERY closely to what your telling them ; ) I think you meant First amendment buddy, and its the same thing as going into a headshop and talking about smoking weed out of the new bong you're about to buy. They are just protecting themselves and there business. They know you are growing weed b/c not too many people spend that kind of money and need that equipment for growing lettuce and shit.. they just don't officially acknowledge it to protect themselves if something were to happen and you got caught and the cops came to talk to them they can play dumb. I would suggest using the word "plants" and "fruit" instead of "weed" and "buds" Just don't push it and they will help you a ton. You can also say "tomatoes" b/c they grow almost exactly like ganja and in the same environment and watering schedule.

no but for real i would have to go with the others talk about your fruit not buds or you tomato not you mj plant..and get to know the workers alittle like everyone is saying they will lighten up

I too think it is a bit silly that mentioning cannabis in a hydro store is taboo but at the same time it just isn't necessary. The other day I visited a new hydro store and I mentioned I grew in a tent and needed conversion flanges for my hood and that I was looking for an exhaust fan for my grow room...that I needed nutrients for my plants...and then I started to talk to the owner about a $12,000 trimming machine which I am pretty sure can't be used to trim anythign other than pot. He talked about his plants and his room and after all of that neither of us had mentioned pot because it just wasn't necessary.
