Default *Humidity is gonna kill my buds again!

I have dealt with every part of my grow room and have promised i would never again loose to high humidity.

I can't remember the last time i was able to let a crop run to the finish without cropping early because of bud rot!

It's my lights off night time that is the killer here.

I have a square meter tent and 1.8 high,

I have brought a de-humidifier a small one last night i put in the tent it has collected some water but my humidity when i checked my highgometer was up to 87% at some point of the night i don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Now to be fair i didn't have any extraction fans going or even a fan blowing within the tent just the de-humidifier i wanted to see what that can do and so i have a starting point. I know you must have good extraction at night to lower humidity.

It's just my 6 inch fan is far too loud to run at night.

So tonight i'm going to run a 4 inch fan to run all night extracting air from the tent.

I will also leave the de-humidifier inside the tent again.

My question at this stage please guys at what height should i place the de-humidifier where it pulls air into it, ie: the height of the bud sites?? which then pushes the expelled cleaned air out the top of it.

Or should i set it lower to pull air in from underneath the buds more between the storks and below the canopy??

I will crack this problem i have too!

The reason i put it inside the tent is because i found outside the tent just the room itself the humidity at night stays around 55% which is fine i have a heater which kicks in at 19 c to maintain that temp at night time.

But inside the tent the humidity sky rockets at night. So thats why i have placed the de-humidifier directly inside.

I will keep going on this would love to leave my 6 inch extraction fan on with de-humidifier and also my intake fan.

Can i ask when you leave an extraction fan on at night, is it also a good idea to leave an intake fan on as well??

Will this help in getting the humidity down??

yea put a de-humidifier in your tent..and make sure its at least a 30pint de-humidifier..those little 2-5pint ones are garbage and wont help much..ive had powdery mildew issues in the past and ever since i got my 30-40 pint de-humidifier i havnt had a problem since

Yes the one i have is the 2-5 pint one probably not doing much at all.

Don't think i could fit in the big 30-40 pint one how big are they? do you have a link to one?

Also leave extraction fan on at night and also leave inline fan on for fresh air coming in plus a small fan within the tent to circulate,

Please tell me this should fix it will try this tonight may not even need a de-humidifier?

when i have high humidity i turn on my heater..cuz usually if the humidity is up the temp is down..and if that doesnt get it around 45%at night i kick on my de-humidifier..you wont regret it..its worth the money for sure..u can even leave it outside the tent by ur intake, so the air going in the tent is de-humidified..and the size of mine is about 2ft tall and 2ft wide..its big compared to what u have now but not hella big

If your in the veg stage then you have caused most of your problem by NOT exhausting the air that is getting filled with humidity from heat banging on the plants so exhausting the air into the room would raise humidity in the room but it would take a longer time for that same air to get pulled back into the tent passively.I have gas heat and it lowers the humidity big time. I would think it would be easier to control the entire room than control the small tent which you are turning into an oven by not exhausting the air. How would humidity have time to rise if the air is never left in the tent to begin with? heat from the lamp is creating humidity from the plants moisture which is good but not if you are getting bud rot, gas heat would kill all of that or wood stove, dehumidifier's suck and normally cannot keep up with the amount that needs to get removed and you have to empty the dam container that holds the moisture (which you have in the tent getting hot thus putting the same moisture right back into the air) I cant imagine its working at all in a sealed tent its kind of like a sealed jar and don't we burp them to keep the moisture levels from locking too moist. Also your probably growing in a basement possibly and maybe another area in the house upstairs somewhere if this is the case. I would move the de humidifier out of the tent into the room and get some ventilation in there so the humidity is outside the tent and air from the room is pulled in, if you house is full of houseplants this is going to add to the humidity as well and fish tanks will do the same. I think no air circulation is making this a losing battle for you, also are you blowing a fan on the buds? kind of hard to build up humidity with a fan blowing
