I'm using the regular Flora series, and they are also supposed to be pH stable, so what I do is adjust the pH in the water, and I ASSUME when I add the nutes the pH doesn't change.

I have the GH pH test kit, and once the nutes are added, I can't check the pH because the mixture is now so colored I wouldn't be able to tell a color change and see if the pH had changed or not.

I'm having sort of a hard time at the moment, even though I'm moving along. So I've gone ahead and purchased a digital pH meter because I can't stand not knowing if the pH has actually changed or not.

I have not yet received the meter and cleaning and storage solutions yet, but should have them by the end of the week.

At some point I will have bought everything I can possibly buy and won't have to spend any more money! I just want to grow some dope, how hard can it be? It grows wild in some places, yet, as I'm sure you may know, if the pH isn't right or it's missing a nute or there are too much nutes, the damn things will yellow and/or get burnt leaves and/or stop growing.

Feel free to send me a message or if I can remember I'll update it here. I'm using the regular Flora series but I'm interested to see if it really is pH stable.

flora nova is GREAT. i really like it. i use it.

gives my plants nice strong stems and short inter node spacing. i would feed at half strength tho, it is VERY CONCENTRATED and also need to be shaken for about 10 minutes vigorously.

ok so for your PH question.

it will lower your ph to about 5.3 or so. (remember hydro can run 5.3 - 5.8 optimum) now depending on your application, what i like to do is ph up it to around 5.8 for soil less mix's, or for aero/DWC or any other submersed in water system the closer you can get to 5.3 the better as you PH will rise as the plants feed if youre doing everything else right. it is good for your PH to flot up and down by a few points. but to large of swings or to often isnt good for your plant.

hope this helped

Hey devastation,

That was great info. I'm using the regular Flora Series (Flora Micro/Gro/Bloom) with Floralicious Plus, FloraNectar, and today I just got some FloraBlend.

I'm actually growing in CoCo and I may have actually over watered, but I've suspected a pH problem, and what you said is what I'm now doing, adjusting the water to about 5.8 and then adding nutes.

I have a digital pH meter on the way, but I do have a TDS meter. With a mixture of nutes at full strength for the "growth" area of the GH feeding chart, I'm only reading like 683 ppm. Even though that's full strength, doesn't that seem like a low ppm? Isn't it like supposed to be 1200 ppm for a marijuana plant?

floranova is garbage!!

if you are in soil you should use jacks, if hydro, you should use dyna-gro

Imaulle obviously doesn't have a clue. General Hydro's line is a solid and award winning set of nutes and enhancers. And that is not what Ph stable means...its really only a concern in hydro where Ph can wander and swing rapidly. You should still be checking and adjusting your Ph AFTER you add nutes. Then after its thoroughly mixed, my reservoir is dead stable for at least one week. Ph really depends more on environmental conditions though; temps., amount of light/algae, evaporation due to surface area, and plant uptake of water most of all will affect Ph.

I used floranova before I switched to jacks classic. They are terrible nutes, they are way over priced, and do not provide enough Nitrogen for vegging.

If you are in hydro you must use Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro and Dyna-Gro Bloom Booster. They cost under $10 each and truly include everything you'll need. If soil, check my sig.
