How BIG is the difference in using cheap bulbs compared to a expensive bulb.?

Ex.

Plantmax 600w HPS VS Hortilux 600w HPS?

Plantmax is $25 bucks and Eye is $100 bucks?

Im using the cheap one right now and have no problems and plants seem to love the light. Just wondering if i will get more TRICHOMES or BIGGER buds if i get expensive bulbs.

I know there might be a slight difference in lumens but anyone with experience with cheap vs expensvie bulb?

Thanks.+rep:fire:

The more expensive bulbs seem to last longer and stay brighter over time. I also noticed a better lower bud growth with hortilux. I know some cheap bulbs are off spectrum and just dont seem to grow as well.

Agrosun is also a bright bulb like the Hortilux.I tried a Growbrite bulb when I first bought my 400 watt HPS,but after I switched over to a Agrosun I noticed how dim the growbrite bulb really was in comparison. My momma noticed too, the buds started smelling sweeter and she perked up.You get what you pay for.Search Ebay for HPS bulbs you should be able to get 600 watt hps hortilux bulbs for about 40-50 bucks if you look around.I only paid $80 for the last 1000 watt Hortilux I bought.

I usually buy the "expensive ones", because I can afford them and just because it makes me feel better! But deep down inside I know it is a bunch of advertising hype!

My experience with bulbs is that the "Big Name" bulbs are better - but not "4 times the price" better! They do seem to be a bit more reliable, a little sturdier and a little longer lasting though.

I think it was Billy Joel who said it best, in one of his songs - "You get more mileage from a cheap set of speakers!".
