Hello friends - I am an American living abroad and am finding myself at loose ends. Thus I am planning my first grow in spring. I would really appreciate any advice you could give...

Basically I would have a grow space in an outdoor storage closet with electric. Good enough security. My space would be about 3 feet by 5 feet. Seeds = no problem (Holland).

I'm going to line the area with reflective insulation. Ventilation is pretty good but when I'm done making sure no light gets out it might not be so great. I think soil would be best the first time.

What about lights? Can I do my first grow with compact flourescents completely? Do I absolutely need halides?

I'm thinking two plants for the first time.

Yes you can use CFLs the entire grow..

Be careful if you are in a foreign land.. Turkish jails are BAD!!
