AK48, four females. My big time grow friends said I was an idiot for trying LEDs, they are considering switching to them now.

How do you have your set up? How many watts? I'd love to max out on it. Lol. I'd like to have like 6000 watts or so. But will my electricity be able to take it without burning down the house? Do you just have it plugged into the wall? I'd love to see how it goes when you're finished with this cycle. Keep us posted.

not that impressive my 1000 watt does a lot better then that

hey what r u using for leds?

i am actually using leds my self but im mixing them with a couple cfls. i bought my quad band ufo off ebay so i wonder if its quality or if i got some think from sunshine if it would be that much better

my plants are about to be 4 weeks aold and there like 3.5 inches but they pretty wide i have no idea if this is good or bad lol

Other than a bit of stretching they look fine. I do agree with mrdrywall though...my 400w MH/HPS provides much better results than what your pics are showing.

BUT, you have been successful and as long as you are happy, thats all that counts. Good job +rep aswell

Oh geez people I KNOW HPS IS THE SHIT, but its hot, expensive, and bad for the enviroment. These LEDs concentrate on lumens, not light. They are specificaly designed to be stronger in the blue and red spectrums. I am simply seeing how well they work, and posting the progess, because no one has posted anyhing they have tried since 2006. I think some technology is worth a shot if it is new, or redesigned. Believe what you want, I got the pics, and I will post updates. The true test is going to be the quality of the smoke. I should let you know in about 6 or 7 weeks

i started my first grow and ill be running 3 ufo's which i did purchase from sunlighsheds.. i matched up spectrums from the ufo's u see goin for 500... and as long in ur ufo u got the red-630nm i think youll be good to go... i thought bout ebay but sunlight's based outta newyork. so i liked the fact it was from the states and u dnt gotta pay shippin to send it back if anythin ever happens but if u gotta send that light back to china to be fixed i heard its gonna run ya bout 50bucks for shippin... but ill be watchin to see how ur ufo turns out and u can follow my grow and see how the ones from sunlight doo. goodluck with ur grow.

Ok this is my 20th day 90w LED UFO + 3x18w CFL. It has grown 1ft+ since I started flowering. First pict is Chrystal , 2nd pict is pure power plant (front 10days, back 19 days). Do add a CFL or 2 to fill in the missing spectrum seems to help. Consider you be only using electricity for 12 hours, you can double the power use and still pay the same for veg grow 24x7. And yes those are tin foil on the side stick on with duck taps . Sure if you have the space and ways to hide your heat signature and money to pay for a 1000w + fans+ electricity then why not, For smaller grows LED is great. No heat, low energy and last for years.

Man, this is encouraging, I'm getting more convinced I should switch over to LED from HPS. All the cool kids are doing it, or so it would seem!

The UFO I got is from the ebay China import, sounds crap as 1/2 of the cost went to postage, lol, also it is a bit of a gamble if the unit arrive broken. However! It works for me and my girls are doing fine. PS: Those 225 LED panels are shitty (the flat type where there is a comparison with HPS back in 2007) LED has gone a long way since then and UFO grow lights with 1w SMD LED is the one to go for, most round UFO uses those. The 2w panels are getting more common now in high end models.

i got an ebay ufo supposly a 90 watt it came from china i paid 100 and 40 for shipping. my plants are growing but my space is pretty big for my 4 plants that are in 3 liter bucks. its 3x4x7 i been vegging for 4 weeks this sunday and i been using the ufo for 2 weeks. its been working good but my plants are short liek 3 inches tall but there wide as hell spanning from 5 to 6 inches wide. i'm not getting much penatration underneath and inside the plant so i put in a couple cfls with reflectors. im growing blue cheese and la woman. supposely the cheese is short anyway from what it says on attitude. how can i tell what watts my leds are? says it was a quad band wtf does that mean lol.

i was thinking about getting some led grow panels to penatrate from the sides off sunshine systems? think its worth it?

They look good..... but as stated HPS does deliver better buds..... but LEDs are more efficient.... by far.... and you are proving they work!!!

Check my plant out bud..... I chopped her a lil while ago.... great smoke...... I had to harvest a week early for security reasons..... grown with only 4 CFLs.... thats it... and no nutes... only what was in the soil... just pure water not even ph'd...... aerated tap water.
