I'm no expert here BUT if you are referring to topping as in clipping the main stem one week before flowering, this probably isn't a good idea. I clip my main stem about 3 months before flowering or at least enough time so that the plant has a chance to heal itself before flowering.
If you top them one week into flowering them the plant has to use all it's energy to heal itself first, thereby slowing down the flowering time. That is my understanding of it and I may be wrong. |

I feel bad popping your cherry on this forum but.. that is really entirely up 2 you. I am not shitting you, if it was up to me, I would NOT do it. Topping is something to be done during the vegetative stage, and even then it is given some time to recover.. this is the time that your plants are trying to produce flowers and not new growth, so, anything you remove at this point will essentially just result in lesser quantities and quality

Please do not top a plant once it is flowering, or even a week or two from flowering.
Sugashane I would reccomend trying to LST ( Low stress training ) It involves tie the plant down a bit at a time, so that it dosnt go strait up. Theres a lot of good information on it, in the GROWFAQS, check it out. Topping 2 weeks into flowering, would grealty reduce your yeild. Goodluck guys <3

If your plant is getting to tall, then just tie it down. As in Bend the stocks over to each side. The plant with turn up towards the light. This is a good way to get more light coverage anyway. DO NOT TOP DURING FLOWER STAGE. It might stress the plant enough to maybe Hermy the thing.

No need to bend it into a U shape. just bend it like an L. but do it slowly. If it snaps, just tie it tight and it should heal itself, but do your best not to let this happen. Most likely it will not. I am only saying this because on my last grow I snapped a big stock almost completely off, and I bandaged it together, and it healed up. I was AMAZED.

FOOK NO!!
the only parts of a flowering plant that can or should be cut are lower branches that are not receiving adequate light and yet can still be used to make nice clones.. iloveyou |
