Just another reminder that the Government would much rather be snooping into your closet and private homes to regulate what you do...
Anybody seen Bin Laden? October 5, 2007 Canada’s Leader Offers Antidrug Plan By THE NEW YORK TIMES OTTAWA, Oct. 4 — Reversing earlier moves to decriminalize marijuana use, Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada announced new legal and spending measures against drug use and distribution on Thursday. In 2005, the government, then led by the Liberal Party, introduced legislation to eliminate criminal penalties for possessing small amounts of marijuana. The bill did not pass Parliament before the election that brought Mr. Harper and the Conservatives to power. It was never reintroduced. “Far too long now in Canada, governments have been sending out mixed messages on drugs,” Mr. Harper said Thursday. “Canadians hardly know what the law is anymore.” To make it clear that drug use is illegal in Canada, he said the government would spend about $64 million on antidrug campaigns and increased enforcement, including mandatory sentences for dealers and smugglers. There will also be increased coordination with the United States, he said. |

i think its better pots illegal, think about what the penaltys would be like if you were caught growing or with your own bud, if it was legal, theyd be 5 times what they are now, prices would go up, and theyd only sell it a certain way in stores, imo illegals better than legal for so many reasons

If it were legal, there would be no penalty for growing your own. That is what legal means. The consequences of which you are speaking are akin to either decriminalization of personal use and possession, or government regulation and taxation. In the first case, the government may or may not increase penalties for cultivation and distribution. In the second case, barring an extreme tax on marijuana, or complete government control (either by conducting all sale through agents of the government, or the unlikely implementation of a mandatory price floor), prices would likely go down due to an increase in supply, as well as a reduction in risk-related price inflation associated with black market trade. There are many ways to skin a cat, or to pen legislation.

If it was legalized I belive the price would be alot lower in canada. They could make it twice as expensive but no one would buy itthey would just go to thier reg dealer for the lower price! The weed black market would thrive cause everyone would still be buying it illagaly. Therefore forcing the gov to charge below the current market price to get rid of all the illigal dealers.
