Canada’s Leader Offers Antidrug Plan

OTTAWA, Oct. 4 — Reversing earlier moves to decriminalize marijuana use, Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada announced new legal and spending measures against drug use and distribution on Thursday.
In 2005, the government, then led by the Liberal Party, introduced legislation to eliminate criminal penalties for possessing small amounts of marijuana. The bill did not pass Parliament before the election that brought Mr. Harper and the Conservatives to power. It was never reintroduced.
“Far too long now in Canada, governments have been sending out mixed messages on drugs,” Mr. Harper said Thursday. “Canadians hardly know what the law is anymore.”
To make it clear that drug use is illegal in Canada, he said the government would spend about $64 million on antidrug campaigns and increased enforcement, including mandatory sentences for dealers and smugglers. There will also be increased coordination with the United States, he said.

Ive been telling people about it in my country but i cant vote or sign or even ring a congress man as i don't live in the USA or Canada.

I did make a song though called Marijuana Man thats been played over 30,000 times from various sites all put together,so i like to think ive got the message out to a few people and done my bit to help draw attention to the BC3.

If Americans and Canadians can get their leaders to decriminalize pot then the rest of the world will follow suit.

Getting rid of george bush and the harper muppet seem to be the first step,only you guys have the power,i live on a tiny island that reflects American policy's and our country will not go against American policy's and trade agreements whoever we vote in as that would breach our alliance agreements.

In my country i would say that 7 out of 10 people smoke weed anyway,we are practicing civil disobedience to such a level that mostly the police have been given powers to just issue a warning or a caution for possession,lets hope that draconian American laws follow the rest of the worlds lead for once instead of the other way around
