i suffer from anxiety attacks, depression, etc. although weed normally raises the chances of panic attacks and such i've found some strains really mellow me out and actually make me more sociable, not just while high but the day after, etc.

i'm looking to find a strand that you might consider to be best for me.. something really mellow, however still a good high. i know a few strands like "God" have just been too mental for me, but i've been just as high on other strands that kept me very calm.

does the sativa / indica % matter at all in this situation? i know some produce more of a body stone than a mental one..

any info would be greatly appreciated , living full of anxiety sucks! toke on!

I started toking for the same reason.

I had depression, and anexity...bad, really bad.

Bud mellows me out, and definetly makes me more sociable.


But, i know for me, any bud makes me feel better.

I totally understand. I deal with some of the anxiety as well. I was also recently diagnosed with adult ADD/ADHD (I guess I have had it all my life, but was just diagnosed at age 23). Smoking bud isn't just recreation for me, but also a way for me to chill, get mellow, and just get back to normal. I really don't like to be taking any meds, so bud is a godsend for me. If anyone can answer the original posters question it would help me out as well!!

funny i was also diagnosed with that too... ritalin didn't help me much so i quit it.

you guys arnt alone about the anxiety problems. i use prozacs use to use ativans but i just use weed now=)

i am on clonazepam and ativan to keep my panic attacks at a controllable level but honestly smoking bud sorta calms me, not really when i'm high but the day after and beyond, just sort of puts me into a happier mindset... less anxiety, happier thoughts.. thats why i like to toke . hahah

i'd stay away from the man made drugs. Awesome choice i believe your looking for sativas that would be the one that makes you laugh at everything, but then you can also try the hybrids where its a lil bit of both.

bud lets me not get fixated on all the small things that disturb my sober mind... i'm able to just brush shit off and not let it make me physically sick.. ya know? i find a heavy sativa (i smoke a lot of pure mexican sativa) will get me through most any social situation.... i can enjoy myself around anyone.... and if its a more quiet atmosphere that gets you goin.... like if you need something to just relax when you're by yourself... a good indica sativa blend but mostly indica will do you well... let you sit and relax but still let your mind wander off onto fun things instead of getting stuck on whatever again...

I think a nice hybrid would do you good. I'm an Army vet who went to Afghanistan and was diagnosed with PTSD (know it's not the same thing, but it does make you anxious) I found that smoking some weed is literally a godsend it's the only thing that can calm me down. I don't like taking presription drugs and they don't even come close to helping as much as weed does. Screw the gov.t for not making weed legal.
