Can I use 2" net pots with neoprene inserts from clone to harvest?

I would rather not transfer from the 2" net pots and neoprene into a larger container/collar if I don't have to. So can I start them in the little E-Z cloner collars and finish them there OR is the slit in these collars just too narrow and constricting for a growing plant (seems as though it would be)?

My other option doesn't seem to be a good one either, at least not to my inexperienced eyes. I have 3.75" net pots with the corresponding neoprene collars, but the holes in them seem too BIG for a 2 week old clone that has just taken root. It would be a good sized diameter for an older plant, but seems too big to initially transfer them at such an early time (right out of the cloner).

Also, is there any benefit to using a Rapid Rooter plug when taking cuttings? Any benefit to dropping them in a plug over just danging them in air clamped into a neoprene collar?

SOG btw.. Not going to be growing monsters.

seriously doubt it. just for the fact there isn't enough room for the roots to grow before they are drowning in the water. if you plan on the plants maxing out at 8" or so maybe you could make it work, but again doubt it would be worth it in the long run..

I am on page 3 of the thread that you linked.. your friend transplanted into soil (unless he changed his mind later in this thread).. so how does this answer my question? I dont want to transfer at all.. other than lifting the net pot out of my aero cloner and setting it into my DWC flowering system.

My problem being that the 3.75" neoprene collars are too big for a freshly cut clone and the 2" E-Z cloner type collars are seemingly too small for an older plant.

of course you can do it if you want to keep transferring to a bigger res as they grow. i thought you were talking about doing it in a cloner thing. if you have a big enough/deep enough bucket/res, you can obviously do anything
